I understand that ROBLOX has started moving to twitch to announce things; however, there are some of us (like myself) who don’t have the time to watch through each and every twitch show. I would like to see more blog posts, especially game developer interviews which can be really interesting. I miss the crossfire series and some of the good ol’ check-out-this-place posts. I understand that it may take more time, but it would be really nice to have blog posts come just a little more often.
Just as an idea, maybe you could have some of the Dev’s in this forum submit possible short articles that you could compile into a new type of blogpost. There might be a few different categories in the post to highlight different aspects of ROBLOX. Here is an example of what one of the posts might look like:
A Word From Our Dev Team. {blog post title}
Here are some of the cool things the devs in the roblox community have been looking into. {short intro}
Hidden Craze. {sub title}
Here we bring you information about a little known, but really fantastic game that I found. {a short article about little known but well made game}
Up and Coming. {sub title}
And this is what one of your favorite, or maybe a lesser know dev is up to these days. {a bit about a new game a dev is working on}
Tips and Tricks {sub title}
Now comes the best part where one of our developers shares some of their game making tips. {here devs can share some tips with the community on how to make their games better}
Of course there could be other categories, but you get the idea. What do guys think?
Agreed, even cooler thing would be if us developers could post stuff on this forum (tutorials, insight on game dev, etc) and then an actual blog writer could review and possibly post it on the roblox blog.
I would love to write blog posts. Something makes me think, however, that it would take more work to review our entries than to actually just write them. I dunno. Mayne we could do an audition and get a small team based on stuff like writing quality, commitment, etc.
All that whackadoo aside, I would love to see more blog posts in general.
“Something makes me think, however, that it would take more work to review our entries than to actually just write them. I dunno.”
It definitely would. The blog is made up of carefully groomed content. It’s supposed to put Roblox in the best light possible for news / other public relations consumption. The gory development details and practical concerns that you’re probably interested in writing about have no place there.
