More Premium benefits that don't give P2W advantages to users

As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to find uses for Roblox Premium

If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development experience because I’d love to see some more stuff coming for Roblox Premium

Currently, having a Roblox Premium subscription, doesn’t give any benefits to developers and users who spend less time playing Roblox experiences.
I personally only pay for premium to have permissions to upload UGC Accessories into the catalog.

I would love to see more premium benefits coming out, and I have a list of things I thought I might include in this post as possible benefits.

List:

  • Bonus Items (similar to BC)
  • More discounts
  • Themes

Starting off with the most easy one, would be Bonus items/accessories.

Bonus Accessories

My idea would be, 4 Bonus items given to premium users. These items would be given by the logitivity of a user’s premium subscription. If a player cancels at any time and decides to get a new subscription later however, the timer would continue where the user left off until the next item.

  • As a first time, premium users would get a free Cap with the premium logo
  • After 3 months, premium users would get a second item, perhaps a necklace with the premium logo, in bronze color
  • After half a year, premium users would get a 3rd item, which would probably be a premium hammer
  • And finally, after a year, premium members would get a last item, perhaps a golden premium crown.

Discounts

Aside from the user’s usual premium bonus robux, I believe randomly, when there’s a new global holiday, or seasonal event, such as “Valentine’s Day”, “Easter”, “Halloween”, & “Christmas” premium users would have discounts for buying robux cheaper

We could also unlock like, yearly subscriptions and other nice bonuses if we’ve had over 1-5 months of premium or something similar.

Themes

This is another pretty easy one, would allow premium users to set a specific profile theme to their profile, similar to OBC users could in the past, however this would have a few combos:
Dark/Light and:

  • Bronze (3 Months)
  • Silver (6 Months)
  • Gold (12 Months)

These themes would be having some bronze/silver/gold accents on the page, & a few elements, would be colored the same as the theme used by the user who is viewing the profile. I think this should be able to be enabled in the settings menu, where the user is allowed to change whenever their website theme would be classic, premium bronze, premium silver or premium gold. This theme would also affect the premium user’s experience, by coloring all “blue” buttons to the color of the theme, for example gold would have a golden color, silver would be like a bluish grey, and bronze would have a bronze color.

I’m not a fan of P2W stuff myself, so I think paying for premium should give users quite a few cosmetic benefits on the website instead of benefits that give unfair advantages. I would love to see more suggestions about other stuff premium users would obtain and what not.

A few things I would not like to see, is having the badge coloring based of how long a user was premium for. This would only cause issues in-games where people could “Flex” the color of their premium badge, and I think everyone should be treated the same, but atleast give premium users some more reasons to keep paying for their subscriptions.
I also believe that cancelling your subscription at anytime shouldn’t take away any of the bonus items or themes, just the discounts.

I know some people might disagree in comments, so let’s hope Roblox community is able to keep this civilized.

EDIT: (this is a suggestion on Roblox’s side, what Roblox could do to make premium more worth it for users who are not actively engaging in experiences. Game developers have the rights to create their own benefits which can be P2W, this is mostly a suggestion for Roblox, not game devs)

It would be insanely easy to just copy the ids and upload them as ugcs lol.

The only time someone would see it and admire it is if the user knows about this update anddd saw that it was made by the actual roblox account.

No one would really care about a profile theme to be honest… It would only work as a personal preference.

Better idea is to have some animated background like on steam.

I think it’s really bad to always make items seem worthless because of UGC being a thing, since Roblox is trying their best to get rid of copies off the catalog, but I get where that’s coming from and why. LOL

I don’t know if people like or not profile themes, I would think they’re nice, but a banner or background would be cool too. I would only want Roblox assets to be used for that though, just because everything that’s user-made can easily be bypassed. Maybe some modern Roblox logo pattern, or premium pattern or something

I love this idea, I think it is a great idea. Though roblox does encourage games to make premium benefits not p2w.

In addition to Premium, Roblox’s monetization as a company, isn’t the best. The merch side of things is basically non-existent.

I check Amazon, only the Razor stuff and gift cards from Roblox officially. Where are the shirts? Where’s the collaboration with creators? Where are the toys? I’d assume the cost of production wasn’t more expensive than the return on investment for all those things.

For premium specifically though, there’s a “what comes first?” problem here. It’s the same problem as Roblox and Creators not effectively supporting console/gamepad.

If Roblox doesn’t invest in premium, creators won’t. But, if creators aren’t innovative, using what’s already there, and/or making it a big issue, things likely aren’t going to change. It’s when both sides aren’t working enough we get this issue.

We need more developers actually utilizing Premium rewards and systems. Something more than small cosmetics, like bigger parts of the game to make it warranted from a player perspective. We need Roblox to give better incentives for effort also.

Reuploading and selling copied Roblox items (or anybody else’s items without permission) is not allowed, obviously. Just because somebody can do it doesn’t mean they will get away with it.

It would take a lot of time to do that and besides, people can just keep uploading it. Who’s going to stop them? Batman?

I have been a Premium member ever since it replaced Builders Club. But at this point I am very disappointed with the amount of benefits I’m getting nowadays; when a certain feature went free, little to no extra exclusive features were added to discourage subscribers from canceling, and I have not found that many Premium benefits in the games that I usually play. Pretty much one of the only reasons I have not cancelled is the recurring Robux, but the worst part?

Roblox is currently sharing misinformation to future subscribers on the purchase page about one of the main benefits;

The Premium page suggests that subscribers will be eligible for discounts and exclusive items in the Marketplace, but those benefits have been sunset several months ago, and the page still has not been updated.

This company is still far from on the right track.

Agreed.
Regardless though, I can’t really think of any benefits to premium outside of 450 robux? Which is now less than 5 dollars robux.
