Hi guys!
First of all, I apologise if this has been requested before
I was wondering if we could have the ability to use more fonts, font sizes, use of bold; italic; underline, colours(same options as in studio), emoticons and maybe even simple pictures or graphics on our game pages, both in the description and in the title (Title could be limited to just colour change and font change)! This would add more interest and personalisation into the game page rather than the standard same-size black font!
Would like to hear what you all think about this idea.
Thanks
I think the danger of this is that it would just look really cluttered. However, I do think simple styling would be nice. For instance, bold fonts, larger headers, and perhaps italicized text. I think adding too much customization would hurt the look-and-feel of the page.
I agree that some of these things could end undesirably (i.e. colored names causing your eyes to bleed whenever you visited the front page), and I also agree that font effects (bold, italics, underline, etc), different headers, and the like would help communicate information about games better.
That being said, I don’t think the description is the best place for those things. Yes, these things would be useful for the description, but that’s only because we use the description for more than its intended purpose. In addition to giving a rough description of what the game is, we explain game mechanics, promote our social media, give credit, communicate recent updates, etc. The description and name really don’t need any special features, but we should have wikis, changelogs, polls, etc with their own special little place on the page and they should have the advanced features like bolding, italics, headers, etc.
I think this would be a really good addition, especially if you could change the background for your game’s page and stuff. But I do agree that adding colorable text and emoticons is a bit too much.
