It only makes a difference when you’re moving the camera. It does not change how fast the mouse moves.
Sadly, we have multiple input control schemes, WinTenApp, OSX+Client, OSX+Studio, Win32+Client, Win32+Studio.
We also have an attempt to more unify these, however there are lingering issues on some platforms. As as result, this feature is turned on/off. Typically on a Thursday.
There is also an unrelated mouse sensitivity change in the works to give the user more control over settings, but it isn’t out.
As a result, be sure to include which product (client/studio) and platform (OSX/WinTen/Win32) is affected and at what time.
It is also interesting because there was a thread last week suggesting that we do exactly this – have the UI cursor be similar to the OS cursor and ignore the in-game setting. The changes I’m making for an “Advanced” mode (which is optional) will do this as it is impossible to have a lower mouse sensitivity in 3d camera mode (eg 360deg turn in 30cm of linear distance) and still be able to use the UI.
