I recently uninstalled and reinstalled ROBLOX Studio and lost a new movement feature that I quickly fell in love with, and now building just isn’t the same without it.
Let me explain how movement used to work before I reinstalled Studio:
When I dragged a brick that was rotated, it would automatically reconfigure it’s rotation to the same rotation of the Part it was dragged to. This made working with angles an absolute joy (I come from the days of having to modify CFrame positions manually!)
When I dragged a Part to another Part, it would often set up a yellow(?) guide, and would snap to corners of parts, making it extremely easy to line Parts up evenly (please save me, I’ve been manually fitting Parts together for months now).
This is probably something easy, hopefully someone knows, I miss it a lot. :')
It’s a new dragger system. Dragger QoL Improvements Enabled by Default
I hate the new system when trying to align the selection box of a cylinder (or MeshPart) to another cylinder.
I’ve done it sometimes manually lately by selecting the CFrame (close the Position and Orientation arrows and the entire CFrame shows up) of the original item and copy/pasting it into the CFrame of the 2nd one.
Either that or use an increment that will allow you to select the halfway part of a cylinder. Now when you mouse over the Parts a grid mark now shows up. Align your mouse so the ‘square’ edge of the cylinder’s grid is under the mouse and click on it (or Ctrl click). It’ll now drag the cylinder and align that edge to whatever surface it’s pointed at behind the Part selected.
