Multiple Highlights not working

Had a fun game idea that had to do with the new ‘highlights’. When i put multiple in a game, some of them just do not work. How do i fix this?


(all have the same highlight in them)

Having this same issue. I’m realizing there is a limit to how many parts can be highlighted at once, although I can’t find any documentation to detail how many is too many.

Theres a limit to how many to how many highlights can exist. I think its between 35-36.

I was also messing around with highlights a few days ago and had this same issue.
The solution I found was to just group all the parts you want to highlight, and put the highlight into the model. You could also just set the Adornee to the model that you wanna highlight everything in.

Here’s 512 parts individually highlighted.

Another solution is to just drop the highlight into the workspace. This will highlight literally every part, and stuff that is grouped will be highlighted as a whole. Heres about 4 thousand parts all highlighted.

The limit seems to be how many highlight INSTANCES can be active at the same time, but if it’s 1 instance affecting the entirety of the Workspace(or another folder/model with a large number of contents) Roblox just forgets…
I imagine this could have performance implications, but this was actually running fine in studio.

Okay but what if you want those parts to have different highlight color for example? This wouldn’t fix it right.

Make multiple folders with different highlights that affect a large number of parts. You’re still limited, but not near as much.

That’s still awful considering I would need to adjust a lot of things just to have this simple feature to work for all assets that I want. :confused:

There isn’t any other solution. What’s your use case? I may be able to help you.

I will be using it to highlight specific type of models that each player will own so I will have to make folder for each type and inside that main folder I will put the highlight. It will be inconvenient to work with it because I won’t have it separated to player’s folders instead (each player would have had its own folder and those models stored inside of it)

Not sure how you managed 4k highlighted objects though placing it in the workspace. When I do that it simply makes the entire map highlighted once on its borders.
