My chopper that's VERY wonky

Here’s my very VERY wonky chopper I was working on tonight for about two hours, what do y’all think of it?

Is it possible to give more footage
Looks low poly

I agree with the title it is very wonky

Most good helicopters take 5 times what you took on this
But its better than I can do

Yea as @Coolsbloxian said some more pictures would be helpful. Honestly two hours isn’t much time spend on something as large as a helicopter and from what I can see there seems to almost no details and in the blender image there doesn’t even seem to any blades at the top. How does it fly? :joy:

I’d suggest looking at a bunch of pictures of helicopters and building from the images.

Typically they are more streamlined (the square rotor shaft/housing, thick tail fin/boom and single main wheel are the definitions of wonky…

With Blender in the Edit mode you can select all the Faces you want smooth and then go to the Face menu and click Smooth Faces which will get rid of the low-poly look.

-edit

Don’t forget to turn auto-smooth to one otherwise it’ll smooth all the faces

Yes, it is meant to be low-poly! Here’s some more photos:

I added some propellers earlier today actually!

Low-poly means very simple, but it doesn’t mean you get to make it incorrect.
I’m not trying to be mean, just truthful.
When have you ever seen a helicopter without windows in the front for the pilot/co-pilot?
When I look at it (even from a low-poly perspective) the single main wheel makes no sense. It would fall over. The thick tail boom, tailwheel and fin would cause massive drag. The very long tail rotor blades look] like they would hit the ground and would definitely hit the main rotor blades when spinning.

It looks like you are going for a UH-60 helicopter vibe. Army Uh-60 Blackhawk Helicopter Stock Photo, Picture And Royalty Free Image. Image 55919526.
There are way too many details in this image, but if you look at the basic overall shape of the heli you’ll see what I’m talking about.

The helicopter looks nice seeing how simple it is. That would look good for a military game! :+1:t5:

I think it’s a good start, I suggest watching YouTube tutorials to try learning Blender a bit better before you take on something as big as a helicopter. Also remember, low poly doesn’t mean no detail! But like I said, it’s a good start!

I know its supposed to be low poly but I feel like a bit more polygons would be better

Ok, I’ll try to add some more. Thanks!

Thanks!
( 3 O chars so I can post)

Ok I’ll try that; the helicopter is inspired by jailbreak so I’m trying to make it look as close to that as possibly!

There is also a game called Poly-battle that has a helicopter, maybe that could help with some inspirations?

Not gonna lie that idea sounds quite interesting.
