What are you working on currently?: I am currently working on my first F-16 build on blender which is in WIP (Work In Progress). If you want see and admire my first try, then watch those pictures.

They are malformed, but I am getting there as my skills by using blender gets better.

Have a wonderful day and alot of fun with Roblox.

Blender has a great Symmetrize tool in it’s Mesh menu.
You only have to build 1/2 of the model if it’s symmetrical like the centerline of the aircraft. When your done just select all the Vertices (click A) then go to the Mesh menu and use the Symmetrize tool. It may not work at first so you’ll probably have to click on the new toolbar showing at the bottom left of your screen. It’ll open up and have items like +Y to -Y or -X to +X. Just select the one that works properly in your case.

Use a mirror modifier instead of making the entire cylinder by hand, it’ll cut your work duration by half and give you a better looking symmetry.

If you hit a bottleneck trying to develop your F16, you can always try making Guru’s donut (if you haven’t already done so). Learned quite a lot from that tutorial alone.

On how I followed the lines of the F-16 Fuselage cross section. If you don’t know what i did to the reference, I can show you the sheet I used.

General_Dynamics_F-16_Fighting_Falcon
This is the reference sheet I used to create partially the parts of the nose radome and the three other parts.

Feel free to criticize me.

Ok, and can you kindly explain me the mirror modifier controls so that I can learn alot more when using blender.

Ok thanks, I will keep your advise and suggestion in mind for next time and now.

You should be focusing on learning, not displaying. There’s no use in asking anyone for criticism if you’re a beginner, because you haven’t even tried out most of the basic features lol

  • don’t build profiles with cylinders
  • use mirror modifier
  • start with a vertice in the middle of your profile and extrude on the same plane till you get the shape and then apply your mirror and fill between the vertices on each side

That is actually right, I have much to learn and I should display less about my stuff.

I haven’t used blender in a while, but this 2 min video explains it pretty much the same way as I remember it; Blender Basics - Mirroring & the Mirror Modifier Tutorial - YouTube

The later versions just have a Symmetrize tool in the Mesh dropdown. Build 1 half, select all, then hit the tool. You don’t have to worry about adding the modifier and you can instantly see which direction you want it to mirror. Also when you do it you just select all then click the Merge by Distance tool to merge the mesh vertices at center.

Ok then, I shall do it when I am on PC at 20:00 west European time.

I found a a video that might also be helpful if i was about to build a F-16.https://youtu.be/IY5KzgJyD6E?si=e_sa7sjpPCtLWRtY

For doing low poly planes like this, I’d recommend, like @lukethebestpug said, don’t use cylinders for this type of model, it just gets clunky once you try and change anything, instead I’d use a cube to make a rough model, then give it a subdivision surface modifier to smooth it and adjust it from there, much more versatile

Hope this helps!

Ok, thanks for your advice, I will keep it in mind when i am well because today I feel sick.

Ok, I tried the subdivision surface on a cube in blender, but to me it left alot to be desired honestly. I guess I need to learn more of tools on blender before creating the F-16 for Falcon Blox.
