My First Hour of Blender Modelling

Hey everyone! One skill that I lack from my jack of all trades development style is modeling. I can currently do everything required for development except modeling and animation. Over the next 2 weeks, I will be learning modeling and sharing my progress every so often. Anyway, here is what I did in my first hour of learning Blender!

My Models

Individually:

In a scene (Small plant excluded):

What I learned today:

  • The controls of Blender
  • How to color/material in Blender
  • How to export and put together models in Roblox Studio

Please let me know what you think I should learn and what you think of my models so far! (Keep in mind I have one hour of experience only.)

Wow! That’s very interesting! I really say you made quite good models! However, maybe try making the tree color a bit darker, like a bit darker green along with the grass, it’s a bot too bright.

However, I really see you made a good model! I honestly appreciate it!

Glad you liked my models! I now have used Blender for around 3-5 hours, here is a link to my showcase place for my models:

Man, I’ve worked with blender for so many hours and gone through so many tutorials but I could never make any good models like this. What are your secrets to learning this so quickly?? :joy:

wOah so cool, my first week was messing around with a cube in sculpt mode for 5 minutes then closed the tab. Keep up the good work  :call_me_hand:

I refuse to believe you made these in one hour. I can not so much as maybe even mesh a cube in blender without spending around 2 hours tops looking at tutorials. :joy:

You can add this skill to your jack of trades if you can progress THIS fast in blender. Keep up the great work, man. :+1:

Thank you so much, everyone! I just had to learn the basics in 20 minutes and then I let myself run wild. (After a quick 5 minute tutorial for the terrain piece tho!)

This looks great! But I would suggest to take advantage of the “mark sharp” feature, and also work on normals.

Thank you! What does the feature do and where do I access it?

In edit mode, select the edges you want to be sharp, then go to Edge > Mark Sharp

What does it do on the model though?

It makes the edges marked with it look sharp.

Smooth shading can make the model look too smooth sometimes, to the point where you cannot see the sharp edges. Mark sharp marks the edges where you want to have them defined and looking sharp.
