My first Non-Roblox UI

I have always used Roblox for UI but I recently discovered Figma, so I tried it out, this took about 5-10 minutes, what do you think? It is a simple map voting GUI!

Rounded out the edges.

    • Good.
    • Bad.
    • Needs major improvement.

THE MAP ART IS NOT MINE, IT IS FROM GOOGLE.

If you said it needs major improvement, please reply why and how I can improve it. Infact, if you voted at all please just explain why you choose what you choose.

Pretty solid from my point of view but I feel the range of options is too small. I would put it as “okay”.

It isn’t for a game, just a scrap UI.

I chose needs major improvement because the colors seem too bland and there is a lot of blank space. You can improve by using a wider range of colors.

I think it is just bland and needs to be rounder, and maybe a little bit of gradient.

The icons look great. I honestly wouldn’t change anything about how the little map icons look. The thing that really throws this piece off is the background color. The color doesn’t match the icons as you can see here:

It makes the whole UI look weird and I feel like you should use a faint texture as a background, perhaps a faint wooden plank background would make the UI look much more enjoyable to look at.

Secondly, the icons are not spaced out mathematically.

As you can see, there is a pretty noticeable amount of headroom on the right side of the UI. The Desert and Town icon are also unproportional from the Forest icon.\

Other than that, I think it doesn’t look too bad for a first UI!!

The icons are lined up and evenly spread, and they are the same size.

I do this trick with my fingers to see how evenly spread out icons are from eachother, and I put my thumb between each icon and found that they are not evenly spread out. I could be wrong, but it doesn’t look right in my eyes.

It is literally pixel correct, I measured each one’s size, position, and distance from each other, no offense but I can center UI elements just fine fyi. (Sorry if I come off as rude but I have been doing UI long enough to know how to center/position stuff evenly.)

The reason why I votes “needs major improvement” is just because it’s very bland. Now, it’s not horrible and is okay. There are some instances where a UI like this would be perfect.

But to start off The inner curves should match the outer curves

Next, as @ijmod said the sides are not the same distance from the sides.

The next thing I first noticed was that the icons were different in complexity. I would suggest using icons that match each other in complexity

Finally, the colors are very bland compared to the icons. I suggest adding some color to the UI itself with a gradient or something just to spice it up a bit.

Just made lines to find the distance between each icon and found that they are different distances:

On Figma, it says that everything is centered and proportional, so maybe the image got altered in someway when it was uploaded.

I have taken in everyone’s replies and votes, I will be redoing this and posting it, keep your eye out in the next 15-20 minutes or so.

To be honest, I think it’s good for the first time; I think it needs some improvement. If it was for a game, it’s way too small. On top of that, it is very bland and it needs a little bit of “POP!” to it. That’s what most Roblox members are going to see out of your game. “Does it pop out?” “Is it fun?” “Is this game not bland?” “Can I actually do something in this game?”, I am just stated this if you were to use this as a UI, but if you aren’t, well that’s fine too.

I think it is good but I recommend using another colour for the background that matches more with the images. It’s up to you, great work.

The images are just a placeholder for now, and thank you!
