It’s good for a first obby game! The continue button when you join, is on a good level, but it’s not on that level middle, that’s something you should fix. The tuorial where the man is speaking on every checkpoint, it’s a little broken. But overall, it’s good.
Hi.
I couldn’t play your tutorial, it did not show me it or teleport me.
Your obby is reallyyyy different. It took me a while to get to the actual obby (which, the placement you put the bricks made it impossible to actually win the obby)…
So I went to another obby across the map. This obby teleported me at random times outside and the placement of the obby COMPLETELY changed so that I couldn’t even reach it anymore.
I would fix your game and then release it. Consider adding checkpoints and making the lobby bigger.
Also please consider making the walking speed faster. The lying down animation looks like you’re trying to swim with 1 leg.
Good job, hope this helps.
Thanks for the feedback. Like I said, the lobby is an abomination, and about that obby, I was just testing to see if it is possible to make a daily one. May I ask, when you step into the portal, did it show you a black screen?
tbh, my computer was chugging just to type and move (and its not like a old computer I just got it last month), the tutorial wasn’t working, the crouch animations looks kinda weird, the obbys were not accessible, the only thing that actually worked was the escalator thing in the middle. make it private work on it make the obbys a tiny bit easier, fix the scripting then relase it.
Peace,
fried
(lol literally the longest thing I have ever written on the devfourms)
Nothing came up for me when I stepped into the portal and same for the other player that was with me…
I would make your lobby MUCH smaller or redesign it completely.
That’s alright but I’d suggest fixing it.
I dont think I need a tutorial to play an obby haha, they have been around since I joined roblox and all you need is timing and jumps really.
As @mqrchin said, you should make it private and then release it when finished.
First impressions are a very important part in your game, and you have only a couple seconds to make it good. Upon joining, I don’t hear any music and sounds, and the fade looks choppy. You can improve the first impression a bit.
Now I’ll say some stuff about the tutorial.
I gotta say, the tutorial looks pretty ice when I first step into it. I like the “Obby Master” speaking to you, pretty cool. I do see that you have to click the little arrow to continue the dialogue. It’d be much better to just have the entire dialogue box be clickable. There’s also no music in the tutorial, and music would be perfect here.
I don’t really like immediately stopping when I touch a checkpoint for dialogue to appear. Try something different that gives a little freedom in terms of movement to the player. Also, going through the stages, I noticed that the dialogue can be a little finicky. The dialogue may go blank, and it’ll skip even when I don’t press “skip”. And to point out, the ball stage in the tutorial is such a difficulty spike, make it easier, so it’d be suitable for a tutorial.
I ended up quitting at the ball section because I couldn’t do the second jump, no matter what I did.
All in all, this game can be greatly improved. It has potential to be nice and entertaining, but right now, it can use some work. I’d say keep it up! I like where the game is going, and I think it would be pretty fun to see it in a better state.
Thanks for your feedback! I do realize the bug that you can’t skip stuffs and I’m working on it. The ball stage is designed for the master to introduce the sprint key.
Sorry I didn’t realize there was a sprint key to use. In that case, keep the stage, it’s great for teaching sprinting. The only reason I didn’t know there was a sprint key was because the dialogue went blank when I reached the stage.
The only thing I could say about the bug is to skip before the dialogue finish a sentence or it will result in that. Gonna fix it soon but now I got to go to sleep.
