My first scene. Anything I can do to make it better?

This is my first time designing a scene like this, and in a way serves as a test for me to learn and understand lighting and atmospheric tone for a game project.

I was curious if there is anything I can do to make this even better, or perhaps just any feedback on the scene?

The lightning looks really great, I think it can be improved by dispersing the light incoming from the windows a bit more, its too linear

I’ll see what I can do about that. I kind of thought the light coming in from a window would appear fairly linear.

to be more clear I mean dispersion like this, the shadow formed by blocked light is long

Oh right, I’ll try that. I just tried to line up the beams from the window to what light the sunlight casted.

While figuring out how I can disperse the light, I also made the light less concentrated if that makes it look any better.

The toilet stands out to much , and the walls seem a bit bare. I would look to see what else a cell could have . Maybe add some “posters” or “scratch marks” depending on the mood you are trying to set , Maybe some sort of Check marks on wall to show how long the player or last person in cell was here. A open light bulb would not be allowed in a cell that holds prisoner I advise looking to make it something that stays on ceiling. Lighting in the room is good it adds a dread feeling of being trapped. Seeing sun but being so far away from it. I would add some textures to the walls and floor, trust me it adds a ton of flavor to a map - But don’t over use. I hope this helps you in the future of your building days on Roblox!

I made the room smaller, thinking that maybe it was a bit too big for one prisoner. Added some decoration and textures.

IMO it looks great so far and I especially like the crucifix above the bed. However it feels a bit too ‘clean’. The poster is very vivid and the bright colors don’t fit the prison cell vibe I’m getting. You could just turn down the opacity or saturation of the image.

I agree with @Codetrix-- check marks, some more textures. And additionally, some ‘dirty’ textures. Dirt marks, smeared stuff on the wall or floors, etc. You could add cracks and chipped parts on the ‘window’ to show dilapitation.

But so far, your build looks great! Lighting looks good as well, just the right brightness + color. Hope to see more updates and builds from you :- D

I hadn’t thought about adding cracks, that would defiently add to the design. I’ll get back to you when I finish that.

This looks great! I think adding some more details would be good(like blood), other than that, it’s amazing.

Hello!
I really think that this build has great potential. My suggestions are:

  • Possibly create a more vintage feel, such as creating textures, like @contrabannd said in a previous post.
  • I think based on the light that is coming in, there should be a few dark areas in the build. Is it possible you could incorporate these?

And, as always, thanks for allowing us to give you feedback!

It’s great to see you are making improvements to your build. I think that the quality has gotten better, and that there are more things that have been added that made your build interesting.

Good work!
