My first time using F3X. I need your opinion!

So in order to make a game, it has to have building. I’m not very good at building, so I tried using F3X and watched some tutorials. I tried building a house and I need your opinion on it. I could of did better, but my cursor is currently acting weird. I will explain it in another DevForum post.

Although it certainly looks good for a room… Its just a room? Also, I can see slight issues such as the borders coming off from the walls:

Light seems bland and doesn’t fill up the whole room while light making it very boxy shape (though it is a box). You should also consider using a humanoid/npc as a size ruler for doors, walls, and other sizes that are important to keep in ratio.

If you’d like more opinions though, you definitely need to build more rather then a room. However, good luck and keep building :+1:

Also, F3X is NOT needed to make good builds, yes it “speeds up time” but generally, classic building tools work perfectly fine.

Oh sorry about that. I didn’t learn about lighting about yet.

Also, the reason why I was going to use F3X was because roblox keeps glitching the part’s position and it was really hard for me to actually build.

By the way thanks for the feedback

I’m pretty sure the door isn’t in the center. A good method to get things in the center of a part is to use “both” on f3x resize. Once you know the center, then you can build the door around that. The room could use some love on the inside, sometimes just a random item can help a lot. Also, it’s a good idea to have an increment that you will stick with.

Thanks for the feedback, but I really wasn’t focused on that. I’ll fix it!

You did very well considering this is your first time. I would recommend getting some windows inside of there to help improve the lighting.

Along with that, you should try and make the light a little bit brighter.

I see that the door does not have a handle to get in and out. If you want to pay attention to that, just put in a ball, and shrink it down.

A good way to make homes is by not using that boxy kind of feel. add some parts around the outer area of it and make a few things bridging off.

Lastly, a roof. All homes need a roof. I think a roof explains a lot about a house. Try adding that and see how it looks.

Overall, looks pretty good. Using my suggestions it could be 10x more awesome

If you did like my feedback consider leaving me a  or a :white_check_mark:

Since it’s your first time it looks decent, but creating other rooms expanding more could do the trick? However, I would suggest adding a bit more detail to make it stand out I think the textures on the walls and baseboard don’t look good. I would try changing those with a different material such as white or so it doesn’t blend in with the entire house you could try finding a color or texture that you could place on your build definitely decrease the height of the baseboards and go for a whiter color with a different material instead of wood.

Maybe add some designs to the door itself can be changed and maybe a lever from my point of view the door is over to the left. Overall, I wouldn’t feel it up with a bunch of details instead. Expand the house shape to a better design houses aren’t square the feedback I said above and from other people, would improve it.

At the start it’s decent.

First Time, Its pretty good although as others have stated it lacks detail…

Here’s thing you can do to improve it:

  • Add Detail To The Room, If It’s some kind of living room, i advise putting up pictures/posters A small tv, Some Shelf’s

  • Resize the door a little & add detail to it.

  • Perhaps a roof if you don’t plan on making it flat.

Hope This Helped!

I appreciate your response. I wasn’t focused on most stuff, I was just focused on the building. Also, I couldn’t think of a way to build a roof (other than meshes). Also, about the lighting. I wanted to make some ‘old’ house like a shed or something. Like I said, wasn’t focused on the door, lighting, and deco (sorry for that), but thanks!

No problem. I was speaking the truth. Although you did say you were not focused on that, it is hard to make a house look without those things.

I should of told everyone that I wasn’t focused on the whole thing. (I apologize) but yes, I’d admit it that I was lazy and was lacking on the design. Thanks for the information though!

This did help! The actual reason why I didn’t add design was because I was afraid that roblox might glitch the parts’ position when I drag them using the tool or the mouse. Yes, I could just re-position it, but that’s time consuming.
