"My Friends" tabs freeze Chrome

On the “My Friends” page, there are 4 buttons at the top (Friends | Following | Followers | Requests).

Clicking any of them freezes the webpage for roughly half a second. Clicking a few times rapidly can easily freeze the tab for a minute.

I briefly tried digging into a profile of it with Chrome but could not understand what was eating the time up.

Try using the dev console, see what is going on.

Every once and a while my chrome tabs freeze everytime I visit a profile page. It freezes for like 10 long seconds and then unfreezes.

While we’re at it, the site always seems slow to me compared to other sites.
