Roblox doesn’t allow you to configure Game Settings on a local file in the top ribbon bar until you publish to a place, of which my understanding is it pulls the Game Settings from the online version. From that point onwards I believe that the place maintains the Game Settings assigned to the place after linking it via publishing, despite the Game Settings menu not allowing you to make any changes while using a local file.
That’s how I’ve been able to keep developing R6 via local files.
Have been experiencing this issue for a few days now. It happens randomly each time I click play, sometimes it loads correctly but most of the time I spawn as an R15 Character. It’s also starting to happen way more often than before, It would happen around every 3-4 times I’d click play, but now its every 2nd time.
Hey, you need to revert the change again, tried three times on fresh studio instances and now my character is instantly dying on spawn as it’s being forced to R15 again.
Heya, I got the same issue aswell. I found out what’s causing this:
If you have a certain combination of enabled LocalScripts in StarterPlayerScripts and/or StarterCharacterScripts, Studio will force your character to R15. Why? I dunno.
The combinations I’ve found so far are:
Having an enabled script in SPS, at all (with the exception of a disabled script in SCS)
Having at least one disabled script in SCS, even if it’s the only one there (with the exc. of an enabled SPS script)
Having one or more scripts enabled in SCS (RANDOM, sometimes does it and sometimes doesn’t, it’s really confusing…)
and probably more obscure combos out there.
And for some reason this only happens in Studio, and works fine in-game. It’s a very weird situation here.
Happening to me as well, only happens once after joining and respawning puts me back in my respective avatar type, makes it super annoying to work with, though.
