My group Clever Wizard Entertainment was stolen in a high level acquisition scam involving 'Whale Pay' discord escrow and verified user @azuremammal92

Roblox has already announced that there is little they can do when a user is scammed in an off-platform transaction. They will likely not do anything in this case.

The only viable course of action is for you to hire an attorney and follow their advice. This is not a dispute between you and Roblox, it is a dispute between you and the other party in your agreement.

I do not understand your resistance to this. You are out over $100,000 dollars. You need a lawyer.

Yes, we’d likely have our attorney try to contact Roblox attorneys to explore our options on if we can get ownership restored on Roblox as the asset stolen is on Roblox and the buyer is using a verified Roblox account to obtain assets on Roblox through offsite fraud.

Would it be possible to have multiple parties involved? I know a few other people who have also gotten their game stolen.

If any Roblox officials can see this and take action I’d highly appreciate it, my group Clever Wizard Entertainment made about 4-5k USD per month and very consistently for the past year and a half with 12 months of no updates, valued at 200k USD realistically. We would like ownership back.

We spent a year of our lives developing this game, and just released our first big update after 12 months when it got stolen in an elaborate acquisition scam. This was how we paid our bills, and while we can stay afloat for a little while we’ll need to create a new game to support our overhead now, or get another job.

Safe Seal has just rebranded as “Whale Pay”. Watch out people.

Have you managed to retrieve the group, any updates on the situation?

I have not gotten my group back, but I remain in contact with azuremammal92, they are scamming more groups and taking more games and they don’t intend on stopping. He’s even changed his name to @CoffeeInLondon and lost his verified badge.

Our studio was also stolen without help from ROBLOX. Very sad but there’s nothing you can really do if it’s off-platform. Although I’ve been weighing the costs of taking legal action

Was it Azure Ventures that took your group?

Did roblox or the scammer recover the group?

I just filed another ticket with Roblox, let’s see if this helps!

I wish I had seen this earlier, but better late than never. The user in question has already changed their login name (5) times since you posted about it. If the two parties are in the same country, you might have a shot at it with a lawyer. If you are both outside of the USA, don’t expect to be about to recover from this. Money issues aside, if you want to convince Roblox to return ownership of your account, you are going to need to file a “hacked account” ticket. Since you technically didn’t get any money (to be honest), you can probably get away with the “hacked” part since it would be no different than any other trade/account scam in Roblox.
If all else fails, if you have a backup of the game and all it’s resources, republish under a new or slightly different name and be sure to let your community know the game was stolen so they can stop playing, down vote the old stolen one, etc.

Yes, Thanks for your response! I just filed a hacked ticket and attempted to get a rollback. We’ll see what happens!
We’re not in the same country I’m in the USA, azuremammal92 is in the UK. Also we do have the same version of the most recent place in a saved file, however publishing a new game that’s an exact copy could be easily taken down under copyright claim. We filed 4 tickets for scamming, and got the same auto generated response.

That’s true in the technical sense, but that means the other “party” has to provide their “real” legal name and address. That might be your way in because if they refuse to provide that, they lose the claim. I’m not saying that you need to play “dirty” to win this, but the other party sure didn’t play fair. :worried:
