My map feels too empty!

I’m working on a revamp of my game Drawing World based on some suggestions from @youbigown, in a previous post, plus some of my own ideas. This revamp includes a newly designed map containing plots for each user and a liking system (hence the hearts).

I don’t have much experience in map design and the map I’ve created looks rather bland so I’m looking for any suggestions on how I can make it feel more interesting, especially since the game has a young audience.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Stay wonderful and have an amazing day

Maybe add grass, trees, bushes, benches, etc.?

Also, you could add a grass triangular bridge to fill the gaps between the canvases if you want to. Perhaps also adding some hued cloud particles below the map too? Maybe a garden rectangle with slate walls to house the trees in and auroras in the sky?

That’s what I could think of right now.

two words:
set dressing (or environment artist, basically you just gotta add stuff that’d feel ‘natural’, maybe art supplies scattered around each section with the base being on an island?)

Here’s an example of what one does
