The Lost Chapters is a highly ambitious fantasy MMORPG. I am currently developing it on my own. At this point in time, I can finally declare that this game is playable, in which players can progress through quests, and start to get a feel for the game. However, since I very recently finished the game’s basic engine, there isn’t a lot of gameplay content, which is now my focus! (Also, if you feel curious enough to look for and play the game, your data will likely be wiped daily as I’m making datastore modifications almost hourly)
Some of my current engine features include:
- Modular quests, items, and NPCs for easy implementation and rapid expansion
- Quest requirements, i.e. (levels, other quests)
- Quest tasks, i.e. (defeating enemies, collecting items, etc.)
- Item usage, i.e. (food/potion consumption, weapon equipping.)
- Looting systems
- Inventory/bank management
- Many quirky things you’d expect in any other MMORPG
Some of my current gameplay features include:
- Simple and effective combat systems
- Well-written quest lines and lore (not implemented, but in writing!)
- Unique NPC dialog system
- Custom chat system (yes, it’s filtered as required,) with various notifications
- Aesthetically pleasing map making with heavy attention to detail
Planned short-term gameplay features include:
- Quest line completion
- NPC shops
- Player auction house, where players can buy and sell items from other players
- Player trading
- Character gender selection if applicable
- UI overhauls
