My new game, Risky Ropes

I have been rewriting one of my old projects to make a fully fledged game out of it. I’m feeling fairly proud of it, and would appreciate some feedback on it as well. The game can be a bit challenging for some newer people, but don’t get discouraged as that takes the fun out of it.

I want to fully clarify the first map was created by @CanyonJack, I take zero credit for it.

Only real issue is the little indicator is too small to see, it also needs a tutorial or something because I spent like two minutes on the main island before I even knew I could make ropes

One glaring issue I find is the fact that you must be at least month old to be able to join. Is there any reason for this? Is it for exploits? What does it serve other than to prevent exploiters? Here’s a good post considering the outcome of locking out new players from your game.

What that post essentially states is that you should focus your anti-exploiting methods in the way that specifically prevents exploiting itself and not the exploiters coming into the game. Using an umbrella-ban that doesn’t really solve the issue and creates more bad then good considering the amount of actual new players joining Roblox per day.

We were having a ton of bots joining the game with robux scams, and this was my best method. All the of the bots accounts were under 30 days as far as I could tell so this worked out for me.

You can use the left and right brackets to increase the size of the crosshair which can be seen in the description of the game. Probably should add a tutorial, I had one prior but I removed it as I was not proud of its quality.

I say tutorial but even just a sign with a quick explanation on what to do would be better then being thrown into the wind ya know?

I forgot to mention if you press M you get a help window, I had a text label indicating this but removed it a little while ago. I should really add it back.

When I get the chance, I’ll spend more time on the game and edit this reply to give more feedback (it’s 3:30 AM right now for me). The game is pretty fun though. One idea I had was a level editor. An in-game level editor would work, but allowing players to submit models they’ve created in Studio, and then play their map in-game (akin to how surf/bhop does it, surf - Roblox) would be awesome. I see a lot of potential here. Great work so far and I’ll definitely follow this project!

The game is amazing and very underrated. To bad I am bad at it.
