MY PC! [Destructible Roblox Sign]

I’m trying to recreate that one scene from the 2011 Roblox Commercial “ROBLOX: Be Anything, Build Anything!” with the ROBLOX sign that gets destroyed by planes
I don’t have the logo just yet but I do have the parts all set up (no duplicates or anything like that)

The only problem is that running this causes my computer to SEVERELY lag and dip to around <15 FPS even when it is capable of running at 240FPS and the physics end up looking REALLY bizarre.
This is an empty place besides ColorGrading: Retro and Voxel Lighting Engine
After all the parts settle the game returns to 240FPS

Anyone got a clue how to make this less laggy?

turn all cantouch off, anchor one and weld them all, then un-weld when they get hit, use SetNetworkOwner and divide up the load.

it still gets too laggy even with that
how’d they do it in the 2010s man

the 2010s physics engine was less precise but ran faster

i don’t think even The Beast could record the scene again then.

guys i don’t think the sign was done in roblox.
i just saw it do something that doesn’t look like something that was possible in 2010-2011

I know you can’t do anything like this now ,also old physics runs faster and without lag on old PC
Whats your pc Specs ,i did anything like this with 500 parts and it runs at 30 fps

from what i’ve got it’s:
13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700HX
16 GB of RAM [8x2] (don’t know much else)
1.5 TB SSD [1TB+512GB]
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop

Wow you are developing something in a laptop, And this is my PC specs

This is my PC specs:

  • GPU 0 : AMD Ryzen 5 4600G with Radeon Graphics
  • GPU 1 : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050
  • Hard Disk : KINGSTON SNV2S1000G 932 GB SSD
  • RAM : 16GB Ram DDR4 or DDR5

And then my monitor specs:

  • Resolution : 1920x1080
  • Frame Rate : 165hz
  • Monitor : Samsung Gaming Odyssey G3 24" FHD

Because I love playing and developing in Roblox with…

  • Graphics at maximum
  • Almost all my games have Future Lighting
  • And yes, my Samsung Galaxy Tab s7 fe finally supports Future Lighting, but it has delays; I often have to wait a few years to upgrade to a newer tablet.
I’m corcerned that people are discussing another topic, which is why I flagged as off topic 2 answers about Hardware.

i think they just let it run for a while then sped up the video so it looks fast

old physics could run on a Pentium 4 just fine, new physics can barely handle destroying the bottom of Roblox HQ on an i5-6500

wont happen i dont think

speed up the video and scripted scenes

yeah, most likely.

after this whole ordeal i’m starting to think it might be impractical to have them as actual physics objects. i might just have to record their physics and basically fake the effect which is no fun.

oh well…
