I am the owner of a restaurant called Chicken Shack. As of lately, my main game and some others such as my training center, have been experiencing an immeasurable amount of lag. The reason for this lag is still unknown to me, and I was hoping some of you could help. Here is the game if you want to check it out. (Work at Chicken Shack - Roblox)
I’ve checked the game for backdoors, I’ve reset the server, disabled aspects that could possibly create lag. I also checked the developer console and I can’t seem to find anything to do with welds, so I don’t think its the crash exploits.
I was reading about an user who had a similar problem, where an exploiting was instantly crashing his servers making it unable to join. I don’t think that is the case here because you can join the server, but the chat filter will lag out often, and characters will freeze. It’s almost as if the game is getting ddosed.
I need to figure out the fix to this problem ASAP. Many other cafe owners are also experiencing this issue.
If it’s a problem with Roblox, i’m guessing it will be fixed in the next update on Wednesday. Very disappointing though, this issue has lowered my player count by a lot.
Lag issues vary on a case-by-case basis. There’s no exact way for us to tell you specifically x, y, and z are breaking the game unless you gave us permission to see the code that runs the game.
Generally speaking, however, I would check all the tables in your game. Make sure that if something is added to a table, it will eventually get removed from the table. A common mistake that I used to make would be to store information in a table when players joined in the PlayerAdded event but forget to remove them from that table in the PlayerRemoving event. Over time, these tables will collect a good amount of data and can lead to lag.
Because of the outbreak, there are an insane amount of roblox players online and playing games. Roblox’s servers weren’t ready to handle this and many many games are lagging.
Heya matt. This is fully ROBLOX’s issue, I’ve been experiencing this with many games. Yesterday, I had one client open and it was using 20 PERCENT (i’ve got an intel xeon e3 quad core) of my CPU. Said game was low poly and had about 500 instances, the issue has simply disappeared from said game it’s that crazy.
I’ve also found something else out. My ping in game spikes up into the thousands, drops down to around 60, and goes back up. It will stay in the thousands for long periods of time.
