My roblox client takes 15 minutes to appear on my taskbar, then freezes and crashes

I guess this is the topic for this?

So whenever I click in the giant green button on the website, which is what I’ve done for years now, it just recently stopped working. The roblox client does the little window “Roblox is loading” with the green moving bar, but after that disappears, then it doesn’t appear again, except for like 15 minutes later.
It still appears in task manager, and it’s even using the normal amount of resources, like memory and cpu, but it just doesn’t appear anywhere, until way later. When it finally does appear on my taskbar, I can’t open it or close it. I can’t even see it. Sometimes it crashes, or I have to forcefully close it.

The very inferior roblox app from the microsoft store works fine, but it just sucks for many reasons and I do not want to use it.

I have tried watching just about every video about it not working, but all of them are completely useless because it’s just telling me to do the most basic common sense things, such as restart computer, update drivers, uninstall, delete the files, and reinstall the app, and firewall stuff. I have tried all of it, and it hasn’t worked at all.

Please tell me if you have any other ideas of what do do, I don’t want to use the crappy app.

By deleting files, did you delete:

  • The Roblox cache?
  • Roblox regedit keys?

where are those at? I went to my appdata files and deleted the entire roblox folder

I just deleted the temp folder, but now I’m having trouble navigating the regedit thing.

Edit: deleting the temp files didn’t work.

For deleting your Roblox cache:

  1. Open up Run by pressing Win + R.
  2. Type in %Temp%\Roblox and Enter.
  3. Select all files in that folder and delete.

For deleting the Roblox regedit keys:

  1. Open Win + R and type in regedit. Click Enter.
  2. Navigate through the following folder:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE
  3. Search for the folder named Roblox Corporation in the SOFTWARE folder. Once you find the Roblox Corporation folder (not the folder only named Roblox, since that stores Studio settings and other misc data), right click and delete that folder.

Edit: Fixed a typo.

I just deleted the regedit key thing, deleted the temp folder, and deleted the version folder at the same time. It did not work.

Is it possible to reinstall Roblox using third-party applications that can effectively clear registry entries and similar components?

Are you using any kind of a virtual machine? (such as Cloud PCs, VPS)

edit: added clarification

Uhh I dont think so, I just use a normal pc

Ah, I’m not quite sure then, apologies.

Oh, I’m sorry the fixes I provided didn’t help!

You might want to search around the DevForum for similar posts on Roblox crashing. If you have troubleshooted and followed all potential fixes, but still have Roblox crash, you would have to report this to @Bug-Support !
