My spotlight isn't working

Hi,
How can I fix this spotlight?

I tried putting it in a Attachment but nothing changed

Technology: ShadowMap

SpotLight properties:
Enabled: true
Color: 255, 255, 255
Shadows: true (tried changing to false)
Range: 6
Angle: 30
Brightness: 1
Face: Right

Could you explain what you are trying to do and what is wrong with it?

The 3 sources of light has a render distance. If you are too far from the source, it won’t display. Is it your problem?

It doesn’t emit light

Look at this picture

I don’t know but how I can check that?

@SuchTheLegendary are you wanting to be able to see the beam of light going through the air like the Jailbreak helicopter spotlights?

Basically yes he want to see the light from a certain distance

Actually idk how to check but you can search the max distance on google and compare it

I want to illuminate the “VIP” inscription

SpotLights and most other Lights don’t work at low Ranges like 6 studs. Try moving the Attachment farther back and increasing the Range.

It worked but now it looks bad, thanks for help anyways

Edit: I think roblox lighting system is broken

They’ve never worked well at short distances. I’ve heard it’s because it’s a Voxel based system, so the small cone area of the first ‘lit’ voxel isn’t a big enough percentage of the first voxel to light it up.

Have you tried just putting a PointLight in the I (or the center) of the VIP sign?

I wanted to make it realistic, PointLight is just a sphere area of light. How about surface light?

You could, but from the first image I thought you just wanted all the letters lit up. A PointLight would just light up the letter like the SpotLight would do from a distance.

You could also move the attachment in the light back about 10 studs and increase the Range of the SpotLight accordingly.
