MYSTERY HACK W H ? A T World Famous Enter↘

Over the course of the past month I’ve been working on recreating the Mystery Shack from Gravity Falls in ROBLOX. I now have the ground floor finished and decided that now would be a good time to make a thread about it. Note: this thread may contain Gravity Falls spoilers.

Making sense of the Mystery Shack is an exercise in aggravation. Consistency is tossed aside in favor of whatever the artist(s) feel like, and architectural elements are added based on the question “what would be the most nonsensical thing we could do that’s still believable if you don’t look closely?” Windows that can’t be seen from the outside are everywhere within, and individual elements appear, disappear, and move around as the fancy strikes them. Because of this, this build is not intended as a perfect recreation but rather as a compilation of the most consistent elements from the show, arranged in a way that makes some modicum of sense (as well as following the show’s floor plan). This first post will focus on the rooms in the ground floor, and subsequent posts will be made as I make progress on the second floor, attic, and underground rooms. You can visit the place here.

Gift Shop ![](upload://9mDw5OnaxmWPxNqUIougrnuxYTq.png) This is not finished yet. When it is finished it will have shirts for sale as well as an eclectic collection of souvenirs.
Living Room ![](upload://uumh1vNwRXA1aCbNuxi1ROTvoi4.png) ![](upload://fHt08d6g9KrI5RmcfpFpW4WR7vT.png) This is one of the most consistent rooms in the house and it came together pretty well. You can view pictures from the show [here](http://gravityfalls.wikia.com/wiki/Mystery_Shack/Gallery#Living_room).
Rear Entrance ![](upload://q01aoXWeOZlFC0FJ40JO9rjyFBd.png) ![](upload://6pmNXhhL5iAjkOgkE6gD2mzMp04.png) The front of the house is the museum entrance, so Stan uses this door as his main entrance. [Here's what it looks like in the show](http://gravityfalls.wikia.com/wiki/Mystery_Shack/Gallery#Staircase_entryway). The stairs lead to the second floor; in the show they probably lead to the attic, but I'm putting in a second floor because a) there's enough space for it with the high roof, and b) I need it to include all the rooms seen in the show.
Kitchen ![](upload://8Xdis8H1WIrZiKNHwvnpW6JdTTo.png) ![](upload://oNyuCIpcrOttIoglQiqdY8uYLAI.png) Space constraints prevented me from putting in everything I wanted to, but I included the highlights. One day you'll be able to open the fridge, but that day is not this day. [This is what it looks like in the show](http://gravityfalls.wikia.com/wiki/Mystery_Shack/Gallery#Kitchen).
Hallway ![](upload://6XkoD1MzLARLVbeanasE5dmHtoy.png) This hallway actually slopes upward, which was necessary for the floor room. I'll probably put pictures on the walls sometime.
Parlor ![](upload://sJtSVT1xqeLL2WI0Ut5iPpzHGQU.png) This room doesn't stay consistent from episode to episode, so I just focused on including the important parts: the window, the rocking chair, the fireplace, and the rhino head. You can view the original horror [here](http://gravityfalls.wikia.com/wiki/Mystery_Shack/Gallery#Parlor).
Stan's Office ![](upload://bkh9qu3UNRgKxWiby9A4TF9PHpP.png) The window here is actually a part with reflectance set to 1. If I included [every window shown in the show](http://gravityfalls.wikia.com/wiki/Mystery_Shack/Gallery#Stan.27s_Office) it would need to have three windows on three separate walls, which I discarded as impossible.
Bathroom ![](upload://kAzBu7MAsmjBc0AErVV8oyrpRDw.png) This narrow room isn't nearly wide enough to match [the show](http://gravityfalls.wikia.com/wiki/Mystery_Shack/Gallery#Bathroom), but I still included the sink and bathtub.
Floor Room ![](upload://sVC1zJqPvxMjgb8jdq8QpEhuaMx.png) ![](upload://vIVThoDvrmpmJoTUUw46tY74FNl.png) This room is actually a mirrored version of the [original room](http://gravityfalls.wikia.com/wiki/Mystery_Shack/Gallery#Floor_room), necessary to make it fit the rest of the house. This room needed to both be lower than the hallway attaching to it, but also at the same level as that hallway, which is why the hallway is higher at one end than the other. It's an ugly hack, but it works, and fits with the rest of the house.
Museum Room ![](upload://zDZt4hth3u0nacxkkngTvNiJuHy.png) ![](upload://KKNh399HdBV0JUNEas3o5iylbQ.png) ![](upload://95vjC4pgYyaunNHP3NDVZn0GgbF.png) This room is narrower than the [show's depiction](http://gravityfalls.wikia.com/wiki/Mystery_Shack/Gallery#Museum), and is really just a bunch of junk crammed into the leftover space. Current exhibits include the Invisible Man, the RoostDeer, Beavercorn, Jackolope, and others.
Second floor and Attic ![](upload://eXWa1n88q3xIQC4xNJwM2KXImOy.png) Who knows what other secrets are waiting to be unlocked?
