N64 logo and the paths it took to make it

At first I tried to tilt a brick and cut off the corners sticking out, then painting the sides with decals.

Decals don’t mesh well with complex CSG, even after tinkering with positioning and varying qualities of decals.

I realized I would have to purely use CSG, cutting triangles out with wedges. Also I have to ditch decals and roll with “UsePartColor” unchecked. You can see many failed attempts.

I had to get more creative with my cuts to accurately get the colors. Notice the red on the bottom left of the N… that’s supposed to be green or blue, but the red triangle blah blah blah more pics:

Then came the final realization that I’d need to split the N into 4 distinct shapes to get the colors right on every face.

I’m not sure how square or squished the logo is supposed to be. The hard part isn’t the dimensions, but the face colors as you saw. If 6x7x6 doesn’t seem like the right ratio, let me know.

Thank you for reading my random rambling post #1338, breaking my 1337 status.

Edit: Wait! Looks like posting a thread doesn’t change your post count. Whew.

Edit 2: Uh, maybe my post in weeve’s deleted thread reduced my post count by 1, and now I’m back up to 1337? This is a mystery.

badass memories

I bet I could do it in 1

Sweet, maybe i can incorporate it in my Clock Town rebuild :stuck_out_tongue:

I got a bunch of requests for a gamecube logo from those who saw my n64 logo, so: http://www.roblox.com/Gamecube-Logo-item?id=232060625
Thought it would be relevant enough to post here. It was much easier to make. That is all, good day.

I said I could do it in one, and I did:

thanks for the bump
