Hey! Thanks for your time so excited to share this thing I’ve been working on for a narrative game I’m kinda sorta developing!
I knew the system was lacking something so, I added a timer which basically gives the player a sense of urgency to pick something
When a cutscene/dialogue ends now there is a fade to black to basically get ready for the next scene!
That looks amazing! Narrative games are so rare on Roblox. I’m really excited to see how this game evolves because it looks incredibly engaging. The smooth camera movement looks amazing btw as well as the choice system .It would be cool if the choices you make had an impact on the game like outside of dialogue, even a small one - if it fits your game ofc. I’m actually working on a choice-based narrative horror game , so it’s awesome to see more developers creating these types of games. Keep up the great work!
Yeah, they really are and I’ve always wanted to create one even since I started developing some years ago, I just didn’t have the skills but now I do!
The smooth camera animatons are probably my most favorite part and theres going to be alot of them throughout the game, AND yeah I’ve been doing alot of research on games like the Telltales The Walking Dead and choices that matter and I’ve found a sweet spot for my game; since in mine theres already a predefined story I want the player to go through having choices of what to say dont neccessarily change the story as a whole but it’s changes your relationship with that person when your talking to them through dialogue, so let’s say you have a bad relationship with someone what they say will always progress to the narrative i’m trying to tell but they’ll have different variants of THOSE responses based on your relationship metrics; it’s actually not too much of a complex system but it works super well in my case!
Also I actually saw your post a few hours ago and it looks actually amazing, so keep doing what your doing aswell
