I have fixed that, turns out I forgot to apply the raycast params. I need to publish the update tho. Till then I suppose everyone has to be in third person.
published update, things should work fine now.
Wow, that is a lot better.
Now the cubes have a highlight, which is very useful, and it works in first person too!
also i love the idea
the researcher is a really cool machine but there arent many recipes
EDIT: A lot of unintended objects have the highlight now
currently we are working on adding more cubes and recipes. also I will work on the highlight thingy. thanks for the feedback!
Make sure the players data saves.
question here, what do you mean by player data? we do plan on adding a personal currency and a level system later.
Save the players game, I would play this, but right now, I have to restart every time. Save the entire game, so players can pick up where they left off.
ill think of how to implement this
by saving, what aspects of the game would be helpful to save?
As much as you can, since players prefer to resume from where they left the game. So that would be quite a bit of data. But at the very least - upgrades/buildings, crafted items, currency amounts and wave.
Maybe amount of cubes spawned so you could generate them around the area again if you don’t want to save them
what I can think of is the machines, cubux and wave count. I don’t want to save the spawned cubes that are not in the storage because I feel it would be useless. things that the player might want to store so that they can reuse in the next game would have to be put in storage.
so what my friends implemented was to store items in private servers. I feel this is good enough but I am considering implementing this in public servers as well.
I joined the game and started spamming one of the dummies. I almost crashed and there were so many hands. Maybe add a cooldown?
Pardon me, but were you referring to the blue torso NPCs? They are allies. Every midnight Red torso npc attack the core.
Oh… Yea I had no clue what I was doing. I killed the allies accidentally. Maybe add billboard guis above the heads that say “Allies” or smthn
I added a surface guide behind the npc stating their relations like those you would find behind market assistants.
this game has come a long way since i last checked.
I like the new environment! Its so much better than a baseplate.
I like this game
But transporting cubes is a bit tedious
also the waves didnt seem to start for me, no enemies appeared
and i have no clue how to get ingots
EDIT: also i cant pick up cubes after crafting club
and i cant drop the club
From where and to where do you transport cubes from? Also I will look into the issue. I may need to put some placeholders to fix some stuff. Will look into this
i mean that if i would like to transport many cubes at a time from where they spawn to my base there could be something like a wheelbarrow or something that would facilitate moving more than one cube at a time
