Need feedback on my build

Hey developers! I need some feedback on my build, I’m going to go through an EBR admission (Elite Builders of Robloxia) and I really need feedback that could help improve my build.

I am very impressed. I seriously don’t see why you would need to improve anything.

If I had to suggest anything I would say add more detail to the room with the sword, make the door on a hinge or scripted.

The particles are spot on!

Great work man, hope to see you get accepted into EBR!

Firstly, I love this build one of the best I’ve seen on the dev forums. Now time for some suggestions.

1.The chandelier seems rather basic for what it is, although you might like that, I would suggest making it bigger/more detailed.

For example a chandelier I made.

2.Also the top rafters or whatever you would call them seem just to be basic X’s.

Possibly add some more designs up there to give it a more random feeling. Also before I forget, I absolutely love the lighting in your game and as well the dust particles that float around.

3.Also the books in the shelves are all the same I would perhaps have different colors and designs to make it feel more realistic.

4.This design under the staircase seems super basic and somewhat out of place, I would perhaps cut it off and have a door or entrance to another room under it. That or just make a better looking design. Also something I noticed while playing the game is that everything seems to be 3D like if it was made in Blender which I love so much. That sort of work is the type that I just wish was in every showcase.

5.The walls in the game all seem basic and just a bland wood material thrown on it, I would give the walls some design and maybe outlines and possibly a design that goes all the way around the room connecting on all walls.

That’s about all I could tell you to improve or fix on. Other than that it would just be details you’re lacking and from the looks of it you are a better builder than myself so I just wouldn’t know what else to add other than what I’ve already said.

One more note, you have to teach how you made that type of lighting in the game. The glow around the chandelier is astonishing!!

Hi, I have a few thoughts you may consider ~

One - Size. I would try to increase the size of the showcase. From what I understand showcases that don’t offer much in the way of exploration lose points toward the acceptance process, and was the reason my own showcase in early 2017 was denied.

Two - Variety. The starter room is very repetitive and carries a lot of empty space. Every bookcase down to the disheveled position of the books are visually exactly the same. The bookcases are the only thing breaking up the 100% empty space of the walls, so variety there is very important. Randomize the position/angle, color, and size of the books perhaps. Add some more books fallen on the ground or varying degrees of emptiness on the shelves. Maybe stack a second bookshelf on top of another, perhaps against the back wall where there is a lot of empty space (it would make sense since there is a ladder already despite every shelf being in reach without it) Maybe add some broken tiles to break up the flat brown floor.

Three - Color. The chandelier lighting with the dust is a great touch, but despite that there still is a lack of color. The floor, walls, roof - almost everything is brown, including many of the objects in the room. Maybe also try adding a slight saturation value using colorcorrection.

Four - Detail. A lot of what’s built seems a bit basic for an EBR level showcase, and correct me if I’m wrong, areas that are more detailed seem to be meshes not created in Roblox. (Maybe this is more of a personal preference, but I think there is a balance to be had, where meshes should only be used in showcases to accent or slightly detail things already built in studio, or to improve performance out of necessity - showcases more and more the past few years have drifted toward becoming a collection of blender objects imported to Roblox - and that to me isn’t a Roblox showcase.)

Misc -

-The windows look a bit oddly placed since they aren’t centered between anything else. The wooden beams are not centered or evenly placed between the slate arches, and the chandelier is not center with the arch it hangs from.

-Wood beam pieces aren’t level (presumably to avoid z-fighting, so I’d recommend making the bottom and top of the beam larger, rather than the middle)

-There are some z-fighting parts and other smaller inaccuracies in other areas that could be looked at.

-The rounded cutout for the door to the second room is a bit too large compared to the square cutout below it.

-Lighting from the first room cuts through into the second room at certain camera angles.

-The grass, flowers, and rocks on the ground in the first room seem a bit random, since no parts of the area are exposed to the outside.

Overall, you have a decent start, but a lot of room for improvement. Keep up the great work, and best of luck on your journey to becoming an EBR member.

Greetings, I love the build you should improve the light a bit, on spotlight, but everything else is amazing! Just keep up the good work and yeah!

You really should start doing sales / putting work up for sale y’know what I mean but you really should as I think they are 10/10!

Maybe add some more grass, flowers and rocks near the fence if you wanted to they are just suggestions!.

Best Regards, Clock / Daniel.

Incredible build! I won’t write a long review as the majority of things for improvement have already been stated but I do have to say, what are those three neon blocks on the desk? It’s the first thing that caught my eye and it seems a bit out of place.

Lastly, you definitely need to change the books’ placement variation as every single book - on every single bookshelf are exactly the same, all placed in exactly the same place and for the ones that are slightly rotated, they are all rotated on the same angle in the same place on all the shelves. Like @Utibrix stated, you need to change the colours of the books and you definitely need to change the amount of books and their rotation so that they are unique to each shelf.

Apart from that absolutely incredible build and good luck on getting into EBR!

Great built! The particles are perfect and the atmosphere is incredible. One suggestion I have has to do with the walls surrounding the door. In believe that they look a little to plain compared to the rest of the build. I suggest possibly adding things hanging on them (ie. paintings) , or include a design as part of the wall to break up the blank expanse.

The lighting is amazing! There is only a few things that I believe can be changed to make this build a bit better!

Firstly, I believe the shelves are too small compared to what real life archives would look like:

It is bigger than my character but I still believe them to be a bit too small.

Secondly, these pillars keeping up the arches are a bit uneven:

On the other side they seem completely fine. Symmetry matters to the build a lot!

Other than that, I believe this is a great build and can’t wait to see what comes with it. Good luck on getting into EBR!

I can’t observe the game properly due to the spawn being broken;

Also, the terrain outside is redundant, just makes it harder to run.

Wow, this looks great. The lighting goes perfect the game, you did a great job in general.
It’s well decorated and designed.

Yea lol, I got mega inspiration from your build.
