Need game feedback

Hi, I’ve made a game and launched a few updates in order to increase player retention. I’m still not sure why though that player retention is not well. I’ve launched sponsors and it has I’d say a high CR but I’m not able to retain the player long enough for a meaningful server.

I would like some feedback on why the game would just not be enjoyable, and possible reasons why players lose interest in playing quickly and how I could possibly increase my playercount to at least be above 0 consistently.

When I joined the game from my look it seems that the game is just about killing npcs over and over no one will do that for more then 5mins without getting bored.
Also when I played as a zombie my grab was not working.
Although the animations were nice.

I don’t feel like the combat system is very fun at this point. Because the zombies have an invincibility period while they’re downed and the weapons have such a long cooldown, the emphasis is a lot on timing attacks perfectly. There’s a lot of risk for missing an attack (because of the cooldown), but also very little reward at least for the starter weapons because they don’t do an incredible amount of damage. I imagine this kind of system could also get frustrating for mobile players.

Considering this is a horde battle game, I think you should make each basic enemy a lot easier to kill if you want to keep it engaging. I would suggest increasing the weapon damage quite a bit, maybe decreasing the amount of time they’re on the ground after getting hit, and removing their invincibility to damage during the grounded and getup animations. I also think you should significantly decrease the weapon attack cooldown.

Thank you. I’m planning on adding events and some objectioves to address this issue.

I get what you mean. I’ll get rid of the invulnerability for the NPC zombies then and make it more rewarding by making it easier to kill basic zombies, and lower the cooldown. Thank you, this criticism was something I wasn’t aware of and I appreciate you giving the constructive reply.
