Need help with stolen builds

Hey fellas. Today i discovered that a plugin i have been using for the entire time i have been playing roblox is actually a fake script that copies my builds.
I got this info from my scripter when he saw a script named “GrassFX” that was pretending to be a default roblox grass script.
Anyways, i checked. And every single one of my games had the script. Now i dont really care. My builds are average and the only thing that means anything to me are my showcases. As far as i can tell, nothing got stolen, but there still is a bunch of my friends who probably got that script.

I have no clue how to deal with this situation, other than just going from game to game deleting the script.
I dont know if the person who made the script is active and stole the builds, or if theyre just stored somewhere.

Anyone ever been in a simular situation? Any advice welcome.

The only advice that I can give is, careful when choosing a plugin next time.

1 advice is that I have seen two guys who use the logos of actual plugins and make a duplicate of them. One way to know which is real and which is fake we have have to check for new and updated sign on the logos. If the sign is there then it is fake and will probably take your builds.

Try not to choose lesser-known plugins. Make sure the plugin is by someone who isn’t shady. I only get plugins that I have heard of from DevForum or a Roblox Youtuber.

I know I’m late but I have had this problem too, luckily you can just do this to trick the script. :smiling_imp:

When using plugins, I suggest to always look who created the plugin and what reputation they have. I used a fake plugin once and my friend told me about it and gave me the main one. It was quite convincing.

I heard from a lot of these stories. Kinda wierd though, lots of these fake plugins have been grass plugins.

I haven’t been in this situation, as I am very careful of what plugins I use and most of them are recommended from other people.

Do your research. Pretty much all Plugins who have a post in #resources:community-resources are legit. Look at the comments to see what people are saying.

I hope this helped.

As @MRPENNYMISER said, next time, check if your plugins are truly valid, for example,

  1. Check who created it, do they look trustworthy?
  2. Check their join date. If they joined recently, that’s a sign to not use the plugin.
  3. Search up the same name of the plugin they made on the library. Are there copies?
