your game is good i canât even get where you are you need to have the time to update your game you know maybe add like combos/abilities if you can like ultimate battlegrounds people like that game to so try that if you wanât
Steps on how to make your game not fail:
-
Step 1: Make a tutorial. Tutorials will always be a good idea to input into your game, no matter how simple you may think your game is. However, make it optional, not everyone will want to go through a tutorial. A simple gui asking the player if theyâd like a tutorial and giving them an obvious âyesâ and ânoâ button would be ideal. Make sure if they click no, itâs always accessible later on. Accidents happen.
-
Step 2: Make your game appealing to the eyes. Even low poly games can be pleasing to look at if you make it correctly. Think of it this way, you wouldnât eat a donut with nothing on it, right? Itâd just be a regular Olâ plain donut. That wouldnât be very tasty. It also wouldnât look appealing either and you wouldnât want to eat it just from looking at the plainness. Whereas a donut with delicious chocolate with sprinkles on top would be appealing to the eyes and would most likely draw you to it and make you want to eat it. Likewise, make your game appealing such as adding special effects, like particles for example, or making some GUIs with UI gradients. Speaking of, make sure whatever you put in your game fits the game. âBeat People for money Simulatorâ seems more like an aggressive type of game, so youâd want more strong and bright colors that ensures that there will be action versus pastel colors that would bring off a soft tone and give off a âHug people for money Simulatorâ type vibe. You wouldnât sell a roach at a coffee shop, so putting off the wrong themes is a big no-no when it comes to game creation.
-
Step 3: Make an appealing thumbnail. The starting thumbnail will make it look like a basic Roblox game with nothing appealing whatsoever. Your thumbnails are pretty good, but Iâd recommend practicing on UI design to make a thumbnail that attracts, such as âMuscle Legendsâ for example. Those types of thumbnails attract players and will make them curious as to what your game is about and if itâs a good in the inside as it looks on the outside.
-
Step 4: Add badges and gamepasses. Badges will most likely make people return. Not owning a badge in a game might make some players feel incomplete and will make them return just to make sure they have all of the badges. Gamepasses wonât give off an âDo it the right wayâ kind of vibe and wonât make the game feel forced. Some people must have betters stats than others, and if they have to pay robux to do so, they will. So, make sure you have gamepasses. They help a lot and can give you lots of robux too.
-
Step 5: Patience. Be patient. No game will take off overnight, and even it does, the next day will bring more players if itâs really that good. Players that werenât there that same night your game suddenly blew up in popularity. (Imagine typing âpoopularityâ at first
âŠ
) Patience is key when it comes to developing, or I swear, you will become so discouraged. Donât make the lack of popularity tell you that youâre bad, because you arenât. Keep up what youâre doing, and you will get better overtime. I would add more to this, but itâs already pretty long and I need to go. I hope your game does well, and I hope you follow these steps! Good luck with your development!
thats a better result than me, I sponsored my passion project that I have been working on for over 2 years for about 1500 robuxâŠtwiceâŠand still got less than 200 visits.
after asking a few people they stated that its either because there are not enough players in the game or because players are looking for instant dopamine and if they donât get it within 5 seconds they leave.
as for your game, my thinking is it looks similar to a lot of other games on the front page and doesnât stand out a lot. simulators are everywhere and they are a dime a dozen and if I was someone looking for a game there isnât anything that screams âhey come play this, there is something special and unique going onâ.
I donât want you to think Iâm trying to be mean thatâs just how I would look at it from the perspective of someone randomly scrolling through games.
man that hurts a lot to here, i tried to sponsor my game for 20 robux everyday for a week to know when best to advertise, turned out its tuesday at 12am and sunday at 1pm, hereâs the data if you want to advertise again
also, NEVER advertise to pc users, only tablet and phone users, pc users dont care a bit about sponsors
thank you sir, iâll try to follow everything you said
just tried that game, it is nothing like mine, i must say my gameâs title is very inaccurate, it used to be named âdojo master simulatorâ but i know for a fact a name that bland isnât gonna get any attention from no one
Robolx Search algothirm blocks your way!
Seriously, Roblox search algorithm may be the answer to your failure.
yeah the search is very bad, but thats only about game recognition, which is another story, the current problem is people that do join the game, leave shortly after, i did follow the suggestions of the people that posted here and reworked many things, and today advertised the game again, hopefully the problem is fixed, iâll give an update tomorrow
should I use ads if I need to sponsor on pc? my game is too big and complex for mobile.
I joined and I was instantly introduced to blinding amount of lighting
- Your tutorial is bugged
- The map is bland
- Thumbnail is bland
- I rejoined and the tutorial was still bugged
- The UI is basic
- The Dojoâs donât fit in with the rest of the map
- Questionable Title lol
The tutorial is still broken and wonât go away (3rd time rejoining)
All in all the game isnât very appealing to the eye (mines at least)
I got a slight headache from the bright lights when I first joined
Sorry if this came out mean and I hope for your game to be successful
tutorial isnt bugged, you didnt place the carpet where you were supposed to place it
as for the light, lets just say i spent too much time on it i just forgot what good light is supposed to look like, gives me headache too, still trying to fix it
yeah, ads would definitely be better
I always doubted ads because most people use adblock, myself included. ads have a reputation for being malicious which intuitively makes ad runs less effective than sponsors, not to say its actually true.
even with ad blockers, ads are seen more, you need to go out of your way to the discover page and scroll down to see sponsored games, while ads appear everywhere, and a good ad gives a 20 times higher ctr than sponsors do
Iâve noticed many possibilities of why it is failing.
- Simply not all games succeed, it doesnât matter if itâs a genius game idea.
- Lack of funding: Youâve only invested 900 robux, obviously this could be a lot depending, but it isnât in terms of sponsors. I usually put at least 30k into ads.
- Confusion in gameplay: Upon first glance of completing the tutorial, I donât really understand the reason for players to stay. It is also not really explained well what to do with your money in the tutorial.
- There are no daily rewards: This could help boost your retention.
- The game idea isnât âclick-baityâ enough to where either the game sounds funny and can be taken out of context, but itâs also not too mainstream. With the concept of violence in your game, I think it would be benefitial to change the title to something funny.
- The game seems a little low-effort, but also looks like a cartoony simulator. The UI doesnât match from left to right, I think you could also change combat to a button or keybind instead of a tool because that would appeal more visually.
Anyways, the game isnât too bad, you just need more experience on marketting and advertisement.
