Need opinions on why game is failing

i published this game a month or 2 ago: [🔥] Beat People for money Simulator! - Roblox

for a while the game didn’t get any attention, which is obviously expected, so I tried to sponsor it for 900 robux and got about 200 visits, which is pretty decent.
the problem is, the average time a player stayed in the game is less than 5 minutes, and after the sponsor stopped, the visits did not go up, meaning none of the players that played once returned.
I want feedback on what could the issue be, or if its just the lack of other players that’s causing this

What is your game?
There are many factors that play into retention.
I also used sponsored ads for my horror game but obviously after it ended, the promotion of the game dropped dramatically. The retention was about 6 minutes (the game is designed for 10 minutes maximum). But after advertising, people still played it and re-entered it.
In any case, it depends on your game and only.

it’s a simulator, you punch, gain coins, buy upgrades, and punch more, pretty simple, but for some reason its not really appealing to others so i thought i’d seek opinions

There’s no tutorial to explain what to do at the start of the game. There’s not even 6 minutes worth of clickable buttons that do things. What are you supposed to do if you are in the server alone? What’s the point? and some music would be nice. If it is complete, cool but doesn’t feel like it. I’m guessing it’s designed for kids ages 1-5. I think I lasted 10 minutes.

If the game itself is good, then the reason for the unpopularity may be the lack of a fan base and advertising.
Hypothetically, if you advertise your game for 5m robux, then it would be in the top and everyone would hear it and could possibly become ± independent (that is, roblox itself will already promote it). this is purely my opinion and judgment

there’s a very basic tutorial just to set up basic things but i guess its not enough, and what do you exactly mean by 6 minutes worth of clickable buttons ?

I don’t mean to be harsh for 1. So there’s no coins at start up. to me there’s nothing to do. I clicked teleport, I teleported to 3 places. I clicked the wrench, and I got a trail, I followed the trail, I clicked setup, I got an inventory with 1 item, a carpet. Was it student and master? I clicked those. I clicked all the gui buttons to see what they do. Then there was really nothing else to do, I didn’t understand the game to be honest.

I think the style of game you’re developing fits well with a category of game styles that have click bait features like starting as a trainer and kicking a punching bag or a pole to earn strength or coins, and this keeps happening over and over until the player is level 1000 and they have the title super master or something. I’m confident that players will stay longer with some kind of clicking game that rewards them with something that they can use to reach a goal. I try to create unique features along those lines so there’s always something to do, even if you are playing alone. Lastly, music will give it some more life. I sincerely hope this helps!

  • The Title should be changed , if I saw this title I will not join and add badges for like small achievement (some people like badges)
  • Advertise (create a twitter account and add a “Codes” thing in the game and a Discord server)
  • Do regularly Update (Every 2/3 weeks)
  • Add pets
  • Add musics
  • Add some game passes

first of all, i would prefer you being harsh, i need real honest opinions since am really lost here
to play the game, you place the carpet, click place, then click the trainee button which shows up after you do so, then click the trainee, then click place, and so you punch the trainee (sounds real wrong but ignore it) and get points, then get coins, to buy upgrades and so on

oh and about the buttons thing you mentioned, do you mean there’s not enough buttons showing up for the player to explore and try out ?

There is multiple reasons I can tell you why this game is failing.

To get roblox to show your game to normal players which you’ll need your game to have a high average time spent by user and the amount of robux they are spending also. From the looks of it you have neither which is why your game has no concurrent players.

1)The game is way too confusing I had no idea what to do in the game which made me bored instantly

2)There is so many simulators nowadays your game has to be better than the big simulators and right now your game needs a lot of improvement.

3)You need more gamepasses

  1. You need to update the UI

I’d recommend looking at all of the big simulator games and using that as inspiration, such as UI, layouts etc

can you tell me at which point you found the game confusing ? was it after the first tutorial ?

I don’t remember seeing a tutorial or if so it wasn’t very rememberable.
Without sounding harsh the game is very bland, you need bright colours things to catch the attention of the user, the surroundings and buildings are too bland, try using low bright low poly assets. The UI needs improving. Alot of the users of roblox have a short attention span they keep needing new changes in the game.

again, it is preferable to be harsh
i’ll try to make a more noticeable tutorial and better ui, thanks for the feedback!

probably because not many people wanna play a game named “beat people for money simulator” or… i hope they dont?

well i thought the name was funny, but thats not the point, the point is they do join and play, but lose interest and leave

so i played the game and the tutorial was a bit unclear on what you were supposed to do, and it took me a minute to figure it out. try adding text, because most people won’t be able to figure out what your supposed to do.
