you need to clarify more on EXACTLY what you want advice about
i dont know what exactly do you mean “‘X’ place” and i dont want to assume what it is For You risking the chance of me getting it wrong
what EXACTLY do you mean by happy? (im Assuming these two because you didnt clarity so correct me if im wrong about both)
do you mean simulator type of “happy” where You arent really Sure if the player base enjoy the game or not but their complused to keep playing because well, the game has an illusion of fun but i may be basis about this because i STRONLY DONT enjoy simulators on roblox but i do enjoy “clicker heros” which is NOT A roblox simulator or roblox game but Has the SAME Basic Mechanic as a roblox simulator which is clicking.
or do you mean the “happy” that players feel when they finish playing and feel strongly positive towards your game Leading To Some Cringe Posts online about your game but overall most would feel nostalgia every time they think back about the times when they played your game without ever playing it again
they just feel good looking back even tho they will NEVER play your game AGAIN but theres a Chance that they may come back to revisit
you can not choose both, as people can not commit their time to your game Forever. They will eventually quit. People have obligations and it is a factor you can not control.
by the way if your gonna clarity, i suggest you write descriptive text that talks to the senses (happy) or something that gives me an image of your current objective and situation (‘X’ place)
If I understand correctly, place “X” is when you burn out on development? If I am correct I suggest you try working on different parts of the game for now, or try defining your idea better. If it is too vague it may be harder to accomplish. Of course there are hundreds of topics about “oh dear ive burned out what should i do…” so you can check those out if my suggestions don’t work great for you.
As for keeping your players happy, just provide them with constant updates and screenshots and you will be surprised how well this works. You can of course get some concept art done and release that slowly to keep them on edge, or just talk about what you hope to accomplish with your game or similar games. I hope this helps because we all get problems like this sometimes.
im going to addon to cheezBoy assuming that this is your situation. I dug up advice from online that you should always plan out what your going to code before coding and getting everything down clearly unless your can plan as you code Efficiently and effectively
you cant really avoid burnouts if your doing it for a long period of time but you could look up resources online to at least minimize its effects on you so you can keep going sooner if your going to take a break
