Neon for night, plastic for day

Quickly made this script for the community to take and use for their places, what it does is it turns all parts within a model into neon parts when it is night time and back into whatever material they were before when its day time.

Enjoy!

While it’s a good little thing to have, I think it changes from material->neon way too sudden. Either some sort of quick transition (just tried toning down neon by making the part transparent, and have a smoothplastic clone of it in same spot), or another type of effect (blinking) to indicate the change.

Also, it didn’t instantly update when I joined - it was night at that time, so I had to wait a full day before it turned on.

Pretty neat, but I agree with As8D

This is cool. Someone should build a dilapidated neighborhood with streetlights that turn on after dark.

Neon flickers. It doesn’t turn on gradually.

Sort of OT, but nice typography!

If we had a glow property, I would make it flicker a few times before it becomes a solid glow… As for updating, I am unware of that due to the long place loading time I have been experiencing on roblox, will fix that tomorrow.

make a copy of the sign and turn it neon, leave the original one plastic. Change the transparency of the neon copy and you can control the glowing effect fairly well. zfighting should be simple enough to solve.

I think it’s pretty realistic not fading into neon. Do stores in real life have a fade effect, nah, they just turn on their neon lights at once.

He’s plastic by day…

…Neon by night…

…he is the Neon Knight
