As a Roblox developer, it is currently impossible to start off from where you were after stopping in solo play. What I mean is the game does not resume after you press play again—it starts over as if a new server and a new player; however, an option to start off from where you left could be helpful. It allows you to make edits and test it in case it would take a while for the player to do something. Maybe it’s an obstacle course and the player must get past several hard obstacles. It may be inconvenient to disable checkpoints and spawn locations, or you may need to be in a specific place or have events happen in order to test something. Maybe these events are hard to trigger. It would be easier simply to resume.
You cannot properly simulate changes as a script may be a bit a certain point - you would have to somehow locate that exact piece of code without human interference.
There would be also be many changes done would that would require a full reset anyway. Code isn’t intelligent, it just does what it’s told to do. Making a change then telling it to resume could be problematic.
The entire suggestions is pretty much something that developers especially devs of pure single player games should/can implement by coding a save game system ; which loads your player character ;your stats ; position and data of the surrounding map once you click on load savegame or some continue button.
