I just made this animation, but it looks extremely rigid? I’ve had this issue before with anims, but I wanna know how I would go about fixing this?
This is what the keyframes look like too if this helps
Thanks in advanced!

all linear
you need easing styles. your animation is fine but you should change your easing styles to maybe sine, quad, quart, something like that
and make it InOut
Sine? Quad? Quart? What are these, and how are they different?
sine is like linear but a LITTLE more curvy. quad and quart are more towards the exponential style of easing, and they all have more curviness than the last. i think there are like 14 easing styles in moon animator.
That’s a lot! How do I know when the right place is to use them?
actually in my opinion, i prefer linear because it gives me most control on the animation. If we need the same effect as easing styles we can just animate them by using only linear!
hold up im not a great animator either.
i;d say maybe like if your linear doesn’t look good maybe play around with it?i dont know.
i know i know but its just…
ok i admit i do that too but sometimes easing styles is the way to go. you’ll have way too many keyframes sometimes, but if its not a hassle for you, i’d say go for it? not a really good practice though, i dont like doing it, even though i do.
if you think linear will make an animation has way too many keyframes at the same time then you can just group them, or just use easing styles lol. I just want to say that if you use too many easing styles it might make the animations weird and, choppy between each poses?
thats what happens, but there is an equilibrium.
what is grouping keyframes ?
That’s so much information
So for a general equip animation, how many keyframes would you normally have?
maybe around the same that you have right now if you easing styles, but if you linear all the way thru maybe 2 or 3 times more keyframes. and also timing is key. you need to time your keyframes and stuff
grouping keyframes will help you improve informations (because too many keyframes might cause lags) you can select a bunch of keyframes then, Shift + G boom, they’re grouped, if you want to ungroup them you can select the group then Shift + U
I’m not an animator but that looks way better than before.
(I know that I’m late oof)
I’d rate this 3/10
If you’re new, then this is really good for you! Just need more practice and you’re good.
Now everything wrong with this animation:
Now here’s my version of it (not so good tho):
Keyframes:
Alr, hope you’ll be better, have a good day
I do agree that linear is the way to go, but I do believe it’s better to start off with easing styles.
look a bit werid and unnatural, try making it slower, either the speak or the hand needs to be slowed
