If I enter the forum and and see say 15 new threads, they will all (or most) disappear from “New” category if I close the forum, and then come back after some time.
Feels really annoying when you can’t open the forum for a short amount of time, because when you come back, you won’t see new posts anymore, leaving you “behind”.
That’s the point, once you’ve opened a thread it’s not new anymore. You’ll want to check the Unread tab for threads that you’ve opened (or seen the title of) that have new posts.
No, I don’t open any threads in the “New” category.
I don’t need to touch any of the threads in there and they will all disappear when I come back to the forum after some time.
Yeah but if you have the page open long enough, Discourse will still consider them as having been seen by you, so they’re not considered New anymore.
If you think that’s not right, I would make a feature request on the Discourse forum to have it changed or to make it an option:
Ohh, that may be it. If you can, please, make this request.
I don’t like when site is thinking for me. I lost many threads from my sight because of this. I often just check on devforum and not necessarly have time to check all threads at once.
I meant “If you think that’s not right, I would make a feature request” as “you should make a feature request there if it bothers you”, sorry for bad wording
Oh, ok
