New Ear & Eye Accessory Type?

I’m using GetCharacterAppearanceInfoAsync with GetProductInfo so I know what Accessories the player has on their Roblox Avatar, the question is

Will any of the Accessories return as AssetType of 57 or 58 / EarAccessory or EyeAccessory as of now?

I know that we have these

Hat
Hair Accessory
Face Accessory
Neck Accessory
Shoulder Accessory
Front Accessory
Back Accessory
Waist Accessory

I don’t know if Ear Accessory and Eye Accessory are a going to be a new thing or just changing the old Accessories Asset type to it

Eyepatch - Roblox This is currently a Face Accessory, it could become an Eye Accessory

Kitty Ears - Roblox This is currently a Hat, it could become an Ear Accessory

Could very well be an upcoming update, lets just hope you didn’t spoil it for everyone. However I’m not sure why they would put it on the wiki before it was released. I haven’t viewed the accessory page in ages so I’m not sure how new this is.

I’m asking to make sure that it won’t screw up my script.

Those aren’t on the Accessory page yet.

I have seen it from this AssetType | Documentation - Roblox Creator Hub last year irrc

I was referring to the wiki page,
I highly doubt roblox will enforce a change like this out of random. I’m sure that if this is something to be worried about then it will be posted in the announcements.

However assuming that they do make an update like this out of the blue I’m sure you will have deprecated methods.

You must be pretty new to Roblox,

From my experience their Updates can break your games pretty badly, I’m doing my best to prevent it and that’s the point of the Thread.

I’ll wait for someone who know’s about the New Accessory Types to reply.

The only people who know about these would be roblox staff. My guess is that they planned to originally have eye and ear accessory types but reversed them last minute. The enums are probably deprecated and have no accessory that would reference them.

If it does happen, it won’t happen without prior warning. Roblox is generally pretty considerate of developers when it comes to things that may break their games.
