Hello DevForum! I’m super happy to announce that my new game: Flaming Taters, has been released!

In Flaming Taters, you have to pass around a hot potato in different maps and game modes! To improve your experience, you can buy game passes and abilities, which only work for one round.

Currently, there are 3 game modes and 6 maps, there are also 4 badges you can try and earn! I hope you check out the game and give me some feedback on what to do to improve or anything else! :slight_smile:

P.S. The game is also in Beta so please try to find any bugs that I couldn’t find myself during initial testing, it will help out a lot!

Hello! Try to rename the game tile to “Flaming Potatoes” because “Flaming Taters” sounds too vague.

As I said in-game, here’s my feedback.

Bad indication for who has the potato in hand

During my testing I’ve noticed that it’s kinda hard to see who has the potato from a distance, it would be great if there was a BillboardGUI above the Player with the potato in hand. Few times I was holding the potato myself without even realizing it.

Bad indication of when the potato will explode

Self-explanatory, there should be a visible timer above everyone’s head.

Abilities

The abilities in the game are not really interesting, it would be cool if there were abilities like SHIFT to dash forward in a straight line or Q/E to roll. That would make the game more interesting to play.

AFK Button

The afk button is hidden, it would be nice if it was moved from here to here.

Bugs

Sometimes the potato gets duplicated and 2 last players have it at the same time

The shop prompts are too high

I have no clue why I removed that, during testing that did exist. I’ll add it back in my patch later today.

I was looking for this exact critique, before I published, I was looking for what abilities I should make as like you said, they aren’t interesting.

Overall, I enjoyed playing the game, but I do have a few suggestions.

  • When you vote, ideally, you should be able to change your vote.
  • As it stands, the items in the shop are slightly too expensive. However, this could be changed if everyone is awarded something at the end of a round.
  • Right before the round ends, even if you are the last one standing, and you die, you are not rewarded anything.
  • Though this is a personal preference, I would consider giving the “seeker” a speed boost as it can be difficult to pass on the tater.
  • The arrow in this UI is unnecessary:

I agree, the base tokens that I give everyone aren’t enough, especially in small servers, so I will change how much tokens people are awarded.

Don’t worry I fixed it and no, it isn’t a personal preference, that is very annoying, to be honest.
