In the old explorer, you use to be able to copy and paste assets from place to place in Roblox Studio - this is not the case with the new New Gen Explorer Beta.
This bug has only occurred to me on the New Gen Explorer Beta, and still works on the old explorer without the beta.
Reproduction Steps
Open up Experience A and Experience B;
Copy an asset in Experience A;
Paste it to Experience B;
The asset doesn’t paste to the Experience B, or it pastes an old asset that you recently deleted in Experience B.
You have to have the game window/tab open for it to work (rendering the game world).
This is not an issue with the other explorer, hopefully they fix this.
It depends on the asset type, but the problem still exist for almost every single asset.
Just the other day, I was trying to move over scripts (B was a child of A), and it wouldn’t move over so I ended up having to save the file to my desktop and then uploading it to my experience.
A model, will sometimes work perfectly fine - it will be buggy other times.
Figured out what it was. The “paste” action is disabled until something updates the toolbars–in the old Explorer, focusing counted. That means that if you were to open two Studio instances, copy one, and paste it into the other without focusing on Explorer, you would still get this bug. However, if you click on the Explorer, then it’ll work.
I’m going to try and see if I can fix this completely by listening to clipboard changing at all. Thanks!
