NEW GFX-opinions

Great job! However, I have a few suggestions:
-Add hands to hold the swords.
-If this is for a game, add the title.
-I’m no expert on rendering, but the fire on the ground looks a little off.

Fire looks a bit weird with a shadow but looks good.

Sharing some of Epic’s comments, you’ll want to focus on shine and shading for the flames, as they’re a little lackluster at the moment. Additionally, a title would be a nice addition. You may also consider changing the color of your watermark to make it a little more subtle, to synergize with your scene rather than distract from it. However, I’d disagree with his comment on hands. Hands are only necessary for 2.0 package avatars, not classic box-style.

It looks like you’ve been taking our suggestions and improving! Definitely better than your previous bunch. Keep working hard.

As for suggestions, the backgrounds (yet again) don’t fit very well. In each of your GFXs (this one included), you take two backgrounds and mash them. The backgrounds that you keep choosing have completely different resolutions, so when you add them in, the transition looks sloppy and unrealistic.

As mentioned above, the fire on the ground looks misplaced. It almost seems like the fire is hovering (I think the shadow is to blame for that). This should be an easy fix, I’d just play around with the shadowing and placement of the flames (maybe move them lower vertically).

I’m repeating this to make sure that you remember: really focus on selecting two backgrounds that compliment each other. I think that if you do that properly, you can add an entirely new depth to your GFXs.

I’ll be looking forward to your next post, keep up the hard work!

This looks really good glad you took everyone suggestions. To improve your skill a lot more! you done a great job.

1.Just like other’s said above, the background doesn’t fit the GFX very well. I would suggest you make it more realistic to fit in with the whole character theme, as seen on the ground the particles! i would suggest you remove those and make the ground just sand…

2.as for the character i can see fire on his suit, and a lot of the background image showing on him and his helmet. I would suggest you fix those issue and try to replace the background with something else…

3.Overall you have done a great job on your GFX, i also suggest you increase the samples a bit more as you can see. On your render i see a lot of black shadows on the ground! and the fire that is seen on the ground!!

Can’t wait to see more of your work, very soon keep up the good work man!

The GFX looks ok, although the lighting needs to be improved. The shadows look off, and hands should be added as the it looks weird with no hand holding the sword.

You’re getting better, but there are definitely a few things to look at.

The good

  • The overall ambience of the piece is great, and I like what you’re trying to do.

The bad

  • I’m not sure if this is on purpose or not, but there’s a large amount of grain on the ground, and it doesn’t fit the scene

  • The fire on the ground has obviously been duplicated twice; it’d be good to add some variety (e.g. smudging the flames in different directions - this goes for the islands in the back too, as they are duplicated as well)

  • The fire doesn’t seem to be casting any sort of light on the surroundings, in fact it seems to be darkening them, which shouldn’t be the case.

  • The terrain has been erased with a soft brush in most places and left with hard edges at corners, which is really inconsistent and looks messy. In an image like this, hard edges are better unless you’re applying something like depth of field.

  • The background doesn’t fit the scene, mainly because of the fact that the lighting on the ground seems like your average daylight lighting, but the sky is practically orange, like a sunset.

  • There seems to be a light beam coming from the top left that really doesn’t fit at all, especially considering where the sun appears to be judging from that sky.

Please don’t take my ranting to mean that you should stop or anything. Keep on improving! I’m excited to see what you’ll make in the future.

Looks amazing, but what is the knight doing? Cutting a rock with a sword? Burning a sword in flames? Running towards an enemy?

man, sincerely i have a argument about fire:

The fire effects on the ground appears to be an "modified size duplicate"and a fire need to be a light point but in this image it gives me to intend that is making shadow, no light.
im not an expert about making images but i am critical.
its very good work, i am thinking about use blender for my thumbs when i never used it you are makin me inspired  sorry for my english but what i have learned i dont remember much.

I honestly think it is great!
One this is the fire on the ground them all looking the same is a bit weird. Maybe try and make them look different from one another shape wise.

It’s look pretty decent, the fire on the ground looks pretty weird, and it appears as it’s just floating. The fire on the left floating rock looks very weird as it is sideways, and doesn’t look right to me. Other than I think everything else looks pretty good.

The graphics overall is very good.

The lighting seems a bit weird, along with the shadows. The character looks like it’s floating, because of the lack of shadows. I really like the concept, and you’ve done a great job. Keep working at it! :+1:
