New Improvements to the Creator Marketplace

So far this looks great, just a few concerns.

Most models have their genre set to all, will this effect the results and cause misplaced models to appear?

Since public audio is planned to return, how will this work with others uploading audio? It has the same problem as model categorization.

I have to disagree with this, as lots of misleading and botted decals were made by people with verified ID. While I doubt this limit will be a problem for the average developer, I feel like you rely on the idea of a verified ID being trustworthy too much.

I upload some of my independently licensed and copyrighted music to Roblox, in the future, will it be possible to attach this metadata to our own music files if I want to make them public (which I likely will).

I believe this update may be a positive change. I don’t really publicly upload models all that often anymore, so it doesn’t affect me that much.

However, I’m now wondering: “why didn’t Roblox do this for private audio uploads?”

You can though? Just insert the model (in a separate studio instance if you want to be extra careful), check the scripts, and delete it if it’s malicious.

This the best update ever Seen

Holy crap, this is amazing. I love the new clean Ui and genuinely hope that in the future we get more category’s (comedy, war, ect.)
But there is one thing that I dont like…

Why? This update looks amazing all besides that one thing, I do commissions where I build for people and atm my friends list is full so the only way to give them the model is to make it public then private.

Sorry but I’m not giving a 3rd party my ID anytime soon.

Edit: also monthly? Wth why not make it daily or weekly why monthly? I feel like you guys put to much trust in ID verification.

Models tab is working but, Audio tab isn’t working. Am I the only person who seen this?

That’s not what I’m saying though. I’m saying it’d be easier if there was an option to automatically open all the scripts in a model when the prompt saying there’s scripts in the model shows up. Some models scripts are deeply nested and hard to find, but not always for malicious reasons.

Personally I don’t really care, but right now the Marketplace is full of gore-esque / creepy content. If you still want to market game creation to kids, their parents might have something against this:

This is in the Essentials category.

That’s a terrible way to give a client your commission. Group everything or nest it under a folder, right click and “Save to file”. They can then drag & drop said file into Roblox Studio.

Also, the internet reached the point where alt accounts like me and you used to do back in the day are a gone idea. You have one identity and need to be careful with it. It’s how the world will work from now on…

Seeing that the marketplace is beginning to utilise genres and categories, I am really hoping that genres and categories are implemented for games.

This update is great but sadly the has scripts never show up for me but its really helpful for us to check if that model has a script we should be aware of but thanks.

It’s concerning how many people I’ve been seeing in this thread pushing this. Listen to yourself and what you’re advocating…

Yeah that’s actually kinda funny lookin

I’m not advocating, I’m observing. It’s the painful truth. But this is really going off topic now.

Why am I not getting it?

I feel like a lot of people are missing this part. Anything uploaded under your group or account doesn’t contribute toward the limit. I personally don’t see how this could interrupt many people’s workflows unless they make a lot of public assets.

This is a great update however ID verification can be something that can be a barrier to developers who want to create content that other people can access. If a person wants to make tons of public models but don’t have ID, It’s going to be a hassle constantly hitting the limit and having to wait a month. If I was Roblox, I would make the limit higher or remove ID verification.

this update is looking good but I don’t use the toolbox anyways.
