New In-Game Topbar

This looks cool and fresh.

It might take some time for me (and possibly others) to get used to this new design.

People says it makes it look empty but I think it just means more room for details!

Can’t wait for this!

Looks great! can’t wait to see more on this!

Very much appreciate this change. The old topbar was very intrusive in games that didn’t explicitly disable it (which was most games). This will help games have a more professional feel to them.

Can you move the health bar back into a position where it is easily viewable?

This is a good update, but also bad. Now it looks empty, but the design of the UI is very good!

We can’t tell what our users are from the screen anymore! When we film videos, or stream, people won’t know who our character is! :sob:

Another terrible thing about this update, is when a user gets damaged, they can’t see their health without the leaderboard being open. A bunch of users are complaining that the leaderboard is too big, the names are too big, and the stats make it too big for gameplay.

If we had weaponry, or some sort of game where health damage was involved. We do NOT need to have this big leaderboard open just to view our health.

It actually doesn’t look bad! Please put the hamburger icon back though. It looks way better with it.

Looks much cleaner, but the Roblox logo looks really out of place.

I like the new top bar as it matches the new Roblox design language, but I’d say that there are issues that should be addressed:

The Roblox Logo is a bit too big

It should be scaled down to not touch the top of the screen, preferably the same size as the chat icon

Change style of 3 dot menu when opened

In my opinion, it would be nicer to make the 3 dot menu open icon a filled circle with 3 dot cutouts, the same way it’s done for the chat icon:

Make the shadow on the new message bubble less strong

I’d say that the shadow is a bit too strong and should be “weakened down”. If it doesn’t catch a lot of attention when the shadow is weakened, a solution would be either making the number in the bubble bold or making the bubble itself red.

Very well done. I really like the style of it. The screen won’t be so filled up now and will look so much better. Thanks for this update! :grinning::upside_down_face:

I’ve always felt the topbar was ugly, and I definitely enjoy these icons more than the old ones, but I don’t know how I feel about having a Roblox watermark forced on my screen.

Maybe allow games owned by Builders Club members to disable that watermark?

I find it so funny to see people saying this, as I remember how many people complained about the old top bar when it was introduced, saying that it was too large and intrusive.

I like this, the top bar is now less intrusive.

My only issue with it would be the health bar having an outline, so I’d like to see like an API (or whatever those things are) that allows to disable health bar outlines and modify them (and maybe the health bar color).

How exactly do you use the legacy topbar in a game? It will be missing functionality only available to the CoreScripts, and of course it can’t override the roblox icon of the new topbar or anything like that.

I dont mind this update, we can now place GUIS at the top of the screen without having to disable anything or mess with the Top bar.

Does this mean we can bind the Esc key for something else or no?

No. Players will always have a way to open the in-game settings menu.

Yesss this is the greatest! No more space pointlessly taken up at the top.
