Constellation studios has been working on our new MMORPG “Molten Souls”.
While all of the backend work is being completed, I’ve recruited across modeling(Weapons/Armor)/worldbuilding/terrain building. Working through roughly 100+ applicants total to get to the few that are currently at the level of talent necessary. I’ve used this map as a recruiting platform to test each candidate in their own area of competency.
Today, we have a minor showcase to share, an example first map. The purpose of this map is to show a glimpse at art-style, and to have a reference item to be used during recruiting. The entire process to get to this point took roughly 3 weeks of an hour or two a day. This was not my main focus, writing all of our product requirements and UX/UI wireframes has been my focus, but it’s an interesting piece of side-work that will be valuable shortly.
In the map you can see our terrain building, model placement, armor modeling, weapon modeling, and level flow principles at work. We are still assessing candidates for all roles, and NPC modeling/Animations/VFX are still a W.I.P.
