New RPG : Scripter Needed

Howdy! I’ll summarize this as best I can.

A scripter, 4 builders, and I are creating a new RPG. The code name is “Mystic Sands”, it may or may not also be the final name. If you join the project, you will work alongside me, this other scripter, and these 4 builders to create this world.

Requirements:

  • Know how to transport player(s) and data between universe places in a game
  • Know how to use Datastore to load and save a player’s data in a table.
  • Know how to use module scripts to execute smaller functions from a global script
  • Experience scripting with each of these

Summary: The goal of the game is to gather artifacts, sell them or keep them to craft new artifacts, upgrade your home with showcases and furniture, and fight bandits for your keep in the dunes.

Pay: You will be paid anywhere between $50 and $100 per large goal completed. At the end of the project, at the game’s release, you will receive the percentage of the game’s income that you earned based on your work. This could be as high as 65% or as low as 1%.

Game description: You start by customizing your character. The setting is 1920s, Sahara Desert. You start with nothing, but in the non-PvP, walled hub town in the desert is the first temple. You acquire your revolver there. Inside each temple will be obstacles, puzzles, and stationary enemies. Once you complete this, you may travel outside the walls to the PvP desert, where the rest of the dungeons are. Once inside of an ancient temple with your friends or solo, you will complete the tasks inside to obtain artifacts. These will be used to craft new artifacts. Temples are new instances and are non-PvP. Once you complete your goal, you will exit the temple and head back to the hub town with your party to sell or buy new items, but you must be careful because in the desert will be other players who will want to kill you and steal your treasure.

These just mockups? How much of that GUI I see is scripted already? Looks like a neat project.

Yeah this actually looks really cool lol

All of what you see here is already scripted. The only unscripted parts are the inner mechanics of the puzzles in the temple. You can gather artifacts from givers we currently have (the givers will later be props, like ancient chests), and you can craft a weapon using them in whichever way you like. The artifacts you attach together makes the weapon’s stats.

The GUI is a mock-up though. It’s fully functional, but we’re going to replace the UI part of it later with something a little more easy on the eyes. Are you looking for a project at the moment?
