People are turning 13 as we speak. It’s a gradual change, but it will take a few years for us to notice it.
Roblox could market itself as a platform for all ages, and appeal to all ages as well.

but the older you are the less chance for you to click on ads
oh and also rip all the people who set there account age to 2022 for fun
Yeah, but 13 still is a young age. We just need our ads to age up too.
and even then at its core roblox is a game for children with people quitting
I just realized something. Ads aren’t being shown to users under 13, but the ability to build an experience and upload assets is still available to all ages as far as I know. Are the handful of creators under 13 still able to spend to run an ad that’s only gonna be shown to people older than them?
The way you put is is so funny/true although i think Roblox’s intention is that if someone of that age IS advertising a game which means he probably has a decent building history, why should they limit that
Roblox, just make it a parental control
As an upcoming developer on Roblox it’s literally impossible to get my games out there. I have no connections and every youtuber/content creator just ignores me.
I paid 13k R$ for sponsors and got 2k visits in total (most not even from the sponsors). I can’t survive off of this, im wasting my own money and time being a Roblox dev, and i fear for my future on this platform. I don’t think ill be here much longer if this keeps up. I won’t be able to afford my bills soon enough
Facts dude. Hopefully they listen to us small developers, it’s really unfortunate for us.
Why wouldn’t someone the age of 12 not be able to see an ad, even one that’s not even an actual advertisement? It’s essentially just another game icon image…
Just silly and lame how there’s isn’t even an alternative either. Only the following inseasonable words: ‘to consider experimenting with the new audience options’
still no update from roblox?
limit
It’s been 9 months, or exactly 300 days, since this update was released and Roblox did not respond to even one single reply covering how this is a horrible idea. Instead, they chose to ignore the fact that many, if not all small developers were harmed by this update.
For what 10,000 Robux could have given you before this update, you now need a minimum of 30,000 to 80,000 Robux for similar results. And that’s something a lot of small developers do not have, in my opinion.
I don’t want to be thaaaaaaaat guy, but this just seems like another way for Roblox to make more money instead of protecting children. Developers will have to get more Robux to get their games out there, which means more money for Roblox!
I wouldn’t even be here replying to this almost 1-year-old post if this update didn’t apply to sponsors. Which doesn’t even make sense because sponsors use the game’s icon! If you want to protect children from harmful games or advertisements, how about you just improve the moderation? Oh right, that wouldn’t generate more revenue, would it?
Thank you for this lovely update Roblox we all LOVE IT, make sure to make advertisements and sponsors only 17+ to protect the teens. That would make the website even safer!
-Sincerely, John.
Lol, so true John! This update is horrible for us smaller up-and-coming devs.
