Update: I can now see ads!
I assume Roblox has fixed it. That was a weird one.
Thanks, Roblox!
devforum gave me more players after this than a 1k robux ad
Almost 2 months and nothing, no sign of admin or anyone important in roblox talking about this, itâs really sad, my game was giving really good CTR before this update
I am very happy that great developers like @Simon_Dev, @Vikinglaw, @Mr_Wiggles, @RyzoftDev and especially @asimo3089, who despite already having contact or help from youtubers to record in their games, are here supporting new and small developers, and know now, how difficult it is nowadays to make a new project recognized on the platform.
But where are the others? Where are most of the big developers, who have games on the front page and participate annually in the RDC? Without their support also on this topic I donât see a good ending to all this, unfortunately Roblox only gives some response if known developers have been affected by this.
Say I put an ad in my game is there a service i can do to make it so it disapears for example if the user is under 13 so it is following tos?
A great deal of people with influence on Roblox have addressed the issue, but from my understanding, it wonât be of much concern to Roblox until it starts affecting revenue and top developers.
I donât think Roblox cares too much if the backwater part of their community dries up. If the players affected by this was actually important to Roblox, they would have responded. Either by showing sympathy or expressing an interest in finding a solution. Itâs not particularly hard to do so.
Itâs obvious to any large corporation that more often than not, listening to the community isnât the best idea. They donât know whatâs good for the corporation as a whole. But when hundreds of developers are saying itâs tipping them over the edge⊠You get whatâs going on. Itâs not important to them, and as developers you will have to work with the tools Roblox give you.
Itâs been a very long time now and the issue is still very much around. Keep the discussion going and maybe one day someone with influence at Roblox takes an interest in helping this part of the community as well
Merry Christmas everyone!
lol I got liked by Vikinglaw
roblox fix ads or I will do idk but I will do something
I mean its just Roblox being Roblox
VPNs are probably the reason that they couldnât just do it for Europe
roblox is slowly going to become into a blank slate that says âRoblox, powering lawsuitsâ
The update is⊠bad, I think we all can agree on that. But what really makes me mad is that there is absolutly No sign of any moderator or staff member actually reading this? Do they just not care? This update has ruined the dreams of being a sucessful developer for alot of people including me. And I donât have the money to spend 1000$+ for a youtuber to make a video about my game. Like Bruh? At least give us a reason why you did thisâŠ
Sadly, this is true and it is too true for Roblox to have any reason to make this reasonable.
Maybe some youtuber that actually has some public appearance can make Roblox notice that maybe they should get rid of bad ads and NOT all of them.
What also kind of makes me mad is the fact that in this topic they also present Sponsored UGC, with the hope that this will not get that much hate if they release a good update with this⊠and they even put the UGC update infront of the Updated Ads in the title⊠I might just overreact here but still
Even Roblox knows that sooner or later somebody is going to make an extension that brings them back
I know people might not like the idea of this but all I can advise is this, if YOU canât promote YOUR games on Roblox then donât allow YOUR games to be on the platform. Itâs like people are forgetting that Roblox needs developers as well as we need them. Sure you can argue that developers need Roblox way more than we need them however the fact is they still need us. The same goes for Youtube. Due to this update alot of people have been going to Youtubers to advertise their game and have been paying for videos. If the price is reasonable and your game is new then it can be reasonable, however some youtubers are charging ridiculous amounts. Itâs as if Roblox youtubers are forgetting they also need developers and that there is a mutual exchange. Youtubers get games to make content out of and in turn they share games with their audience. Also please know your games worth and donât sell them to people for stupidly cheap prices, as people who buy games tend to have other means of advertisement that new developers donât have access to (communities from previous games, contacts to youtubers etc). No response in two months sort of just shows a lack of care from Roblox so atleast as developers we can try to take matters into our own hands and not adhere to these conditions.
Very low impressions, literally having to spend 1k robux/500 clicks⊠itâs really very sad whatâs happening, before what I spent with that amount, it came 4-5x more, without any fear of the ad being bad. I donât know if Roblox intends to do anything about it, but I hope itâs soon, because I donât see why I spend my time creating a game anymore, with little chance of it succeeding and being recognized.
I know that many devs here have already recommended partnering with youtubers, but donât think this is easy to do, plus they now have access to the ugc program on star creator, what we paid them in the past for a video, it is no longer a good amount compared to what they get now.
someone make a thread to advertise games so people can get there MAU/Active players back.
This is horrible! Ads were the core way of getting your game kick-started! Now, all us smaller developers have is advertising on social media!? Most of us donât have large enough followings on social media to even advertise on it. Yet to say we donât all have the money or the influence to get a popular Youtuber to make videos of our game.
Please remove the >13 ad ban Roblox. Perhaps make a setting where parents can actually have an option to adjust their childâs accounts of whether or not they want them to see ads or not. This is affecting many developers since U13 accounts make up more than half of the Roblox community.
Otherwise, donât be surprise when you see a growing amount of Developers quitting the platform and seeking elsewhere to create their own games and Roblox will be something of the past.
I donât see the problem with this. As the community grows older, more people will see these ads. However, it might take 3 or 4 years for us to notice.
Thatâs true. But only God knows how long weâll have to wait until then? 4 years, 5 years, 6 years? It really delays the plan of many developers who wanted to launch a game sometime this year like me. Now we have to waitâŠ
