Long story short, you will be able to publish this update to show it off before everyone else.
In other words, you get to flex.
ahhh yes, I must flex. I must flex hard. Sign me up.
That method still doesnāt look to great unfortunately, and it just causes more lag. And if you union it to decrease lag, these methods just donāt really look great.
Well unfortunately, until we get these beautiful new materials, this is the only method (other than texturing) I know that lets you create custom, decent looking materials. They do appear to have a lot more cons than pros.
This sounds pretty cool. Iāve always felt the materials on ROBLOX were quite limiting. Would love to opt in!

Yeah, it is extremely unfortunate, and I hope Roblox fixes the need to do stuff like thatā¦

Oh my! Thats amazing! Itās another level.
Amazing news! But I have a question, will the old materials be removed or will there be a way to use them still?
Looks amazing. I would definitely like to opt in.

From what I heard, the old materials are here to stay.
Iām not sure if this is too closely related to refined Iron, but I have always wanted a chrome material. Also, Iām not sure if a gold material was mentioned, but if not, a new gold material would be amazing. I didnāt read the list thoroughly, so if these are already in the list, please let me know.
There are a few sentences in the original post which donāt exactly fill me with confidence that this is the case, but I really do hope that Roblox keeps the current materials available to both preserve existing content and allow the 2014 Roblox style to continue to exist.

I hope that they upgrade the original materials with PBR. As much as I love the old Roblox materials, I would love to see them in PBR.
Perhaps there could be a way to get the new, revamped versions (if there were any) AND the old materials. This way, youād have a choice for your build style.
The original materials do have PBR.
They could still do with an update.
Example: Fabric. Honestly, fabric looks more like a burlap material. It looks like something that you would find in medieval times. I would never use it for carpet. Thankfully, they are adding a carpet material. If it wasnāt for the new materials, I would highly suggest a revamp on the fabric material.
Also, some of the materials we have at this moment, do appear to have PBR under closer inspection, but some donāt look 3D at all.
Slate looks rough and bumpy. You feel like you could reach out and touch it. Grass, unless put under a light, looks flat and texture less. Of course, this is my opinion, so donāt quote me on any of this.
