This morning, when I got on DevForum, there was over 120 new topics. But now, it comes down to 80-90 and I didn’t even read one. Is it broken or intentional?
As referenced from the Discourse Meta:
By default, new topics are those created in the last 2 days that you have not opened yet to keep the list fresh and relevant. New topics show a small blue dot next to the topic title.
Those topics are likely older than 2 days (or whatever the restriction is here) and are no longer shown in that number. There are over 700 000 topics in the DevForum (look at the address bar) so it makes sense for the New topic listing to not show that many
I see but my stats showed that I’ve never missed a day on the DevForum(and I spend so much time reading topics everyday), so it can’t be 2 days or older.
What is address bar?
It’s not related to your stats, but rather the posts themselves. Once they are two days old (or whatever the limit is) or you’ve viewed them, they won’t accumulate towards that number.
As for your question on the address bar, see this website for a visual.
Edit: It looks like that limit is around 7-8 hours on my end. I wouldn’t worry about keeping up with all the jazz here on the forum, there’s just too much. Instead, browse and find what interests you and keep up with that. The Top topic listing is a good way to find popular threads over many of the other ones.
