looks like i can only click right of the red bar
So you can click on that area to drag it correctly.
What about mouse wheel? Does mouse wheel work when hovered over that area (and does it work elsewhere?).
Mouse wheel seems to be working fine, stops scrolling once I’m fully right of the scroll bar but I assume this is intended behavior.
Does resizing the Explorer horizontally change anything (making it work or changing what area works?)
This glitch also just occurred for me as well. It seems for me that its not only just the Explorer, the glitch is also an issue affecting the studio home page. Specifically, the Recents, Experiences, and Templates tabs on the studio home page.
I tried reinstalling studio and reboot, but it didn’t fix the problem.
Edit: To go into more detail, I have the same issues that the post below described, regarding the “Lua” UI. Very well explained.
This just occurred to me after restarting from a studio hang (hang is unrelated but was caused by UI instances), now my studio seems to be in this bugged state, even after restarts.
Like the reply above, I cannot scroll on the explorer and start page, though scrolling works in the settings menu, properties menu, and other similar places. More specifically though, it appears to not allow scrolling on any ‘Lua’ UI. (I may be wrong though as I don’t know the specifics…)
In the explorer, the scrollbar cannot be interacted with or dragged, but I can forcibly scroll by dragging instances to the top and bottom of the window or by selecting using up&down arrow keys.
I was able to scroll properly in a user-plugin that had scrollingframes though.
I’m on MacOS 15.5 if it helps
happening to me too, and this time I cant turn it off, just wonderful
Happening to me too, one thing I found out is that I can actually use the scrollbar on the explorer when I start a playtest window.
wait for me too, what the heck, I can’t click drag it or use scroll wheel in studio but in the playtest window it works fine. This is frustrating.
I can confirm that a clean reinstall is the ONLY thing that fixed this issue for me.
I just reinstalled roblox studio just now and I can confirm a complete reinstall does solve the issue.
For those who still have this problem, I came across a fix for window users. Uninstalling Roblox Studio itself didn’t help solve the issue for me, but deleting the “Roblox” folder in the Local App Data itself did. (I don’t recommend doing this if you have places saved within the folder.)
First step: uninstall both Roblox Player and Roblox Studio within the windows installed apps settings.
Second step: Press the window key, then the “R” key on your keyboard. This will open the run window. In the run window type %localappdata% Then click “OK”.
Third step: Locate the “Roblox” folder and delete it, and also fully delete it in the recycle bin.
Fourth step: Just reinstall the Roblox Player only, and it should automatically install Roblox Studio too.
After a reinstall fixed the issue, it appears to come back randomly. Now is one of those times. I again tried undocking, opening and closing multiple experiences/places. Closing, reopening both Studio and just the Explorer. Nothing is working. I guess I get to reinstall it for the second time in two days. Awesome.
Edit:
At this point I’ve wasted HOURS of my time with this problem. Reinstalling no longer fixes the issue. This is the ONLY application on my PC (Win 11), as far as I can tell, with this issue. It’s never happened before 2 days ago, and now it’s a problem. I’m relegated to using my keyboard to navigate up and down in the Explorer, which is absolutely ridiculous.
PS…why does “Explorer” have its own version number? Is this like a 3rd party app you’ve integrated into Studio? Or maybe it’s a 1st party app, whatever. Regardless, can you revert it to a version that doesn’t break mouse scrolling???
PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
We’re doing this as we’re still frequently shipping bugfixes so that when someone makes a bug report with a screenshot / video we can tell what bugfixes they have. The version number will go away shortly.
Working on it. We haven’t been able to come up with any leads on what could be causing this. Going to get a debug build for those here to gather more info.
Appreciate the quick reply! I’ll do what I can to help. Thx!
I just noticed that the “Revamped Asset Manager” shares the scrolling issue with the Explorer window. I reverted to the original Asset Manager, and the scrolling works for that piece again. Explorer is still broken, but it’s another piece that might help you narrow down the issue.

Sorry for the breakage here, we’re aware that this is a pressing issue.
DM me if you want to temporarily be added to a custom build that will print some extra info to help us debug and resolve this. Note: You will not be able to join Team Create sessions with other people while you’re on this build and can’t use the data store. So you may want to specify an alt account for me to put on the debug build instead of your main account.
If you restart Studio after I add you it should install the custom build which will print several pieces of extra scrolling related info when scrolling with the mouse wheel. Post a video / screenshot and/or the output you get while scrolling over one of the plugins that doesn’t work.
I also just had this issue too. Currently on explorer(v0.374), It worked perfectly fine 14h ago after I updated by Studios, but today when I logged in again the scrollbars seem like to not work anymore too. It would seem like the scroll bar is not there. When I tried to pull it, it would just highlight the objects in the hierarchy
Edit 1: 7H after this post on the same version (v0.374), It worked for me, didn’t restart my PC and was using some other apps
Edit 2: Restarting broke it again
Once the custom debug build installed, the scrollbar in the Explorer window started working. I will post here with a screenshot as soon as it breaks, if it does.
Edit: NVM…I can’t do anything with the datastore in this build, so I have to revert to the regular version if I want to do anything in my experience. Sorry I can’t help at the moment.
Edit2: An interesting side-effect of reinstalling the regular build over the debug that fixed the issue, is that the issue remains fixed…for the moment. I will update here, and try the debug build again if this changes.
Happening for me rn, on windows
